Blogging The Honest Way

I’ m a relatively new blogger and have been experimenting with sites like Blog Explosion, Blog Soldiers and Blog Mad. The idea behind these sites are good but need better guidelines. On Blog Mad I took my time and read through around 40 blogs. I didn’t just wait for the timer and hit enter, I actually read as much as I felt was fair. When I was finished I noticed the top blogger of the day had read 788 blogs! That is impossible even if you clicked to the next blog dead nuts when the countdown ended. This guy’s blog had but 2 comments on all of his 146 posts!

We should all be willing to give a little to help each other out more than a light “once over” and click. If someone reviews your site you should in turn go out of your way to review theirs. If someone leaves a nice comment, go read their blog and leave a comment in return.

To me, blogging is really about the writing, not how many numbers you have. Some people have 50,000 visits yet probably only 30 of those visitors actually read anything. I would rather have 10 people actually read my posts than 500 skim through them. Now there are certain circumstances where there’s not much to read, like a blog of all pictures or tiny reviews of every laptop ever made, etc. Some of these can be enjoyable, though most blogs are aimless or ridiculous.

I reviewed 35 blogs on Blog Explosion one night and no one reviewed mine. I did this for a week and still I was not reviewed. I actually logged in under my other account and reviewed my own blog! Besides just surfing blogs, members should be randomly chosen to review a blog AND write comments on a minimum of five posts even if they have no interest in the content.

I decided to quit Blog Mad because something shady was obviously going on. I still use Blog Explosion and Blog Soldiers for the time being and with time I will get some positive results. The amount of different general categories is too small as my blog for instance falls in around seven categories but is tied into a few central governing motifs. I see tons of blogs that are multi-genre concepts and to write only on one strict category can be very boring for a lot of us.

Finally, my name is Bobby Revell and if anyone reviews or writes a constructive comment on my blog, I will return the favor! So review some blogs this week even if you aren’t interested in the content and lets all help out a little of everybody!!!!!

Harsh Times – The Most Intense Movie

I normally don’t write posts about movies but I watched a movie that was the most intense realistic thriller I’ve seen in years. The movie was Harsh Times starring Christian Bale and Freddy Rodriguez. This was an unbelievably intense portrait of a man who loses his grip and control on life. My blog, which is about artistic expression and philosophies won’t have many movie reviews but the brilliant skill of Christian Bale puts him in a special class of actors, truly an artist and one of the best I have ever seen.

This is one of Christian Bales most riveting performance to date. I’m one of his biggest fans but I never thought he could come close to American Psycho, but he has. This was a Totally realistic drama and I’ve known guys like his character Jim Davis who because of the military became something like this monster portrayed by Bale.

This movie is better than Training Day and a must see for fans of realistic action thrillers with substance. There are so many bad movies without depth or good acting and this is a shining example of great film making with real substance and life lessons. David Ayer (writer/director) also directed Training Day and this is his his second film. So far his only two films are two of the best crime drama/action-thriller movies I have ever seen.

At times during the film Bales intense swings from laughing to explosive rage had me pinned to my seat. His South-Central Los Angeles accent was great as he is one of the best at altering his speech (especially considering he is from Wales and has a British accent). Co star Freddy Rodriguez had an incredible performance as Bales best friend and last hope to get help.

The whole story shows life in a heavily Latin influenced South Central Los Angeles and Rodriguez is a great Latino actor with a bright future. Harsh Times is not a movie for the squeamish and not because of anything but intensity. All said this is one of my my favorite movies this year.

The Human Animal

Are you afraid of a one world government? Imagine a place where all humans are equal on every corner of the Earth; whether you are American, a poor Iraqi dirt farmer or a scholar from Peru. American’s are afraid of losing our freedoms as we know them, but it is inevitable. It will not always be the same and eventually we will have to adapt to this rapidly changing world as one race; the race of mankind. I believe that if you base your beliefs on a political parties ideas that you are ignorant and just as bad as the terrorists trying to kill us all. How can an intelligent human being be a democrat or a republican? You have be extremely narrow minded to follow either party. If think I’m wrong then you are part of why the big changes coming in the future will probably be violent and very unpleasant. If a white man hates black people he is considered prejudice. Well, if you are a democrat and you hate republicans then you are just the same type of prejudiced fool. I believe that most people of this planet generally want to be free and eventually when all is said and done they will be free. We are all humans from the planet Earth and this I what I take pride in. I am proud to be a human from Earth! The main reason I blog is because it brings us all closer to being one race of people, and that is a beautiful idea. What mankind is really afraid of is mankind itself! We, the human race are animals and we show that everyday. Religion and nationalism divide us all more than any border ever could. It seems like only an attack from outer space could unite all people, and that is sad. I for one am not afraid of a one world government, as I am not afraid of anything even my own death. America needs to change its’ political system because it is not working! I am against both political parties in favor of one based on individuals. This change is also inevitable and it may take a war to change it. We are like dogs who growl when another drinks from our water bowl. Until we become more than greedy self righteous animals there will always be a reason for war!

America’s Disease: Paris Hilton

If you are a fan of Paris Hilton then you are a fool. She drops friends like used toilet paper and is the most pathetically shallow influence on today’s teen girls. She represents all that is wrong with America and we should all turn our heads in disgust when she’s near.

Every American school should teach about her in the same breath as Hitler or Napoleon. But Americans keep watching and loving her. Seriously, teach your children that she represents the most foul and disgusting of all traits a human could have.

She even tossed her little chihuahua into a garbage can when it was no longer “cute” enough to be an accessory for her wardrobe. Sure there’s a war going on, an out of control drug epidemic and endless hardships every day.

Paris Hilton might just be the worst part of all these problems. Anna-Nicole Smith was a class act compared to Paris. It should be against the law to let a child watch or read any thing about her until age 18. You have to be 18 to buy porn.

Just hearing one story about Paris Hilton and what she did on Tuesday in itself is MUCH WORSE for a child to see than any porno movie could ever be. So get real and lets make her what she is: The worst and most damaging influence for children in American History. She is truly a disease. Let’s cure her!!!

Racism: The Enemy of All Mankind

Recently I watched a movie starring James Earl Jones entitled “The Vernon Johns Story”. It was unplanned but happened to be on. I was gripped by the powerful true story of whom many refer to as the true father of the civil rights movement.

The church where Reverend Johns resided was actually the place where Martin Luther King Jr. started to become known as he replaced Johns after he left. I am from Mississippi, born and raised here and nothing ever made me feel so sick as the way the police and people treated Reverend Johns and his family.

Johns was a man of incredible intellect and his having to bow down to obviously lesser men was a central motif in the story. So right to the point– I have a few ideas that some people might understand.

Racism starts and ends on an individual basis. Lets say you’re white talking with five white friends and a black guy you all know walks up. After he leaves someone in the group may say, “Why did that black !@#$@@#$*& have to talk to us?”
Thats when you say to him, “Hey, thats James. He’s a really cool guy, and a friend of mine!”

Thats something you could do as on individual basis. Don’t add to the insult, stand apart and be the best example for your friends, etc. The same applies on both sides, blacks or whites or whatever. We are all humans from the same planet. The world may always have prejudice, but I WILL NOT.

Revellian Poetry: Memories of my Death

I died, forgotten by eternity forever before birth
but one is an entire lives every breath
all of same all of difference are every future, past and present
I am a death gnawing into it’s own birth
existing as a past less future of prelived eternities and unborn pasts
A constriction of anger infests me as razor blades of misery
slicing the tender skins of my secret selves. . .
Blood drizzling masterpieces of hatred
on the hand woven carpet of my filthy path
forever unwalked on
A black sun hangs sickly in my beautiful skies
locked in my shrouded tomb of memories
vapours of unfulfilled dreams graced my final breath
remembering my death at birth
A single memory clutched in the hands of he who slowly dies
a life afraid of its own dreams waiting for finality
living a purposeful failure obsessing on escape
choosing despair instead forever dreaming
a soul woven in stench rags forever unwashed
sickening its owner at every breath
Sucked into a vacuum of darkness
I fight for breath but find none
I was born the day I died. . .

Revellian Poetry: Layers

Grinding into it’s surface
many layers peeled
incising into it’s flesh enwrapper
plucking from it all outcroppings
planing flat all protrusions
Endlessly I erode its cortex
with knotted hands of ice
I shave close
of all hair
I shave bare
into its deepest trench
its final layer
slicing the core
only to find the ugly face
of another layer
suffocating in its sheathed linings
deeply engrafted into its membranes
its densities endless
its dimensions fantastic. . .

The Most Important Hacking Lesson

Several years ago because of learning about Linux or GNU-Linux I was immediately on the path. I simply typed the words- “how to become a hacker” in the windows xp search bar. I thought I would be searching through hundreds of sites and expected to spend years learning how to learn how to hack. I was pleasantly surprised when a document entitled “How To Become A Hacker” by Eric Steven Raymond popped up. I am a lifetime practitioner of martial arts, spiritual philosophies and music. So I naturally want an expressive artistic approach to this new lifetime

endeavor. This guide by Mr.Raymond turned out to be what I call the Tao or Bible of hacking. I knew my answer was attained in absolute truthful detail. I have never needed to ask “How” again. I still at this point do not call myself a hacker, but a student of hacking. Taking up an additional life long study doesn’t present itself often–it happened all by itself. This masterfully written text can be obtained free at

How To Become A Hacker

Thanks to Eric Steven Raymond for this incredible gift to us all.
