As I just started learning this stuff a few weeks ago, I write as I learn and teach others as well as get feedback from more knowledgeable experts. First I want to show those who don’t use this what it’s all about. Are you using feedburner? If you use it you should take advantage of their new free pro features and feed flare.

Go to options > feed flare and to keep it simple check them like this. If you know what your doing check whatever:burnedcrispyfeed.JPG

Go down and choose your format, I’m showing blogger because I want to point out this one tiny helpful thing that messes up someone who’s never used a text editor. See right where the red arrow is? Put your cursor there and press enter twice. Then paste in your code. I have known four people who couldn’t get past this. After finishing steps 1-6, save and your done. Make sure to sign up for the pro features as they are free now.

You should start using these if you haven’t before, they are fun and you’ll find new cool stuff! It took me three days to write this because I have a blind woman neighbor that comes by rapping her “walk feeler” stick on my window looking for her new born baby. She lives with her grandfather who’s arms were blown off in a rain of M-60 machine gun bullets years ago. Needless to say, he is deaf also. Between the two of them, getting that diaper sporting little wild child back in his crate can be an ordeal. The baby managed to get his head wedged tightly in a concrete block near the back door. They must have been screaming for me for hours as they were seething in a stormy pandemonium of frenetic fulguration. The blind woman cracked my head viciously with her stick and I was taken by surprise. I didn’t want to hurt her, then grandpa Leggs stomp kicked me in the back of the knee causing me to fall, my skull landing flush on a three-hundred lb sea anchor. I was out for a minute or two, waking up with my pants and underwear removed being kicked and whipped. I blasted a highly focused right-cross into her teeth focused through my two fore knuckles. The punch delivered very makiwara style, with the impact landing perfectly centered, all my weight harmoniously perpendicular to the center of the universe. A full inch of bone which held her two front teeth in was cleaved from cartilage. A strike so perfect her head didn’t move a single twitch, only that portion gouged from the meat of her eyeless head.

A mist of red smoke erupted from her mouth followed by a streaming geyser – black blood hosing an arc of thirteen feet, splattering my freshly painted house. I was kicked again from behind and fell. Too weak to fight, I was being stomped on by a man who could stomp on a large tree roach and accurately hit a person in the eye with roach guts at 20 yards! One of his shoes came off from stomping and he collapsed screaming in tortured agony. What happened?

The little crate baby had dislodged his head and crawled to save my life! Little D we call him clamped a vicious lock-jawed bite on the old mans big toe – the black one that happened to be sensitive – morbidly infected. The police were standing there looking at us in disbelief! I am sheathed in a crust of dried blood wearing nothing but a Olivia Newton-John T-shirt (I was forced into, all my other shirts were dirty). Luckily, my other neighbor was able to capture zoom lens digital video, over 36 minutes – for the memories!

Ok Back to business: I have been studying SEO (search engine optimization) for a few weeks now and it is a slap in the face and has given rise to the biggest financial conspiracy in history!

What this means is there is other information available but we choose to disregard it and we do not index or crawl the same way. Basically they are talking about you and me and all kinds of blogs. If you use blogger with an xml template and you have not added meta-tags and key-words to your template, your site is to the world, invisible. The spiders notice a blogspot blog but pass through.

What is a meta-tag? Your blog is not indexed by your url. Your url can be thought of as always there but in the background. The way someone finds you through the web (not bloglog etc) is determined by Meta-tags and keywords. Guess what? yourblog.blogspot.com doesn’t have them!!!!! Most of us have never even heard of them. They are a secret, hidden text embedded in a blog’s template (in a specific place) that are what the spiders use to search. Under the Meta-Tags there are key-words describing the flavour of your home page. Every blogspot blogger has adsense from google. Unfortunately it is invisible to the spiders. No wonder the meta-tags are hidden! To keep the little guy dreaming something that is impossible unless he learns like I have. Think about it. Nobody will care they’re being controlled and milked for profits.

If you use the old blogger templates you can do this. I recommend self-hosted wordpress. PLEASE DON”T buy a domain and let blogger host it like they make available as an easy solution (an easy solution to keep you profitless and on line 24-7 seing their slave)so conveniently listed in their guide to self hosting. Host yourself. It’s a challenge but is worth it. Many of you know my friend Mariuca just hit 10,000 on technorati. Her perfume blog is invisible too. I am helping her learn this stuff and we’ll see what happens when she actually gets that blog out of the deeply buried treasure chest. I am betting she is going to explode.

Download the seo tool bar from Rankquest. Scan your blog and see what it doesn’t have. Scan big blogs too. Again, I will go with word press. It has built in seo tools for your home page (get keyword density). When you write a post there is seo for each one. If your blog is associated with food, like Jean’s A Great Pleasure you want that to be what is found. Before it’s over, you’ll be able to smell the fresh dishes sizzling from finely tweaked SEO. Now, she is missing out on all those customers! I want to apologize to all my friends for being away, let me master this real quick because I am not a money blogger – but it has been an eye-opener !
