Help Bobby Find His Niche Blog Market

First I want to thank the BrownBaron for my thoughtful blogger award! Also Christy for my creative blogger award (I know you said you gave me one, but I didn’t see my name on your winners list) I have created an awards page listed at the top of my blog in the page tabs! I could not display either in my side bar because it’s too wide and my viewers said they couldn’t see but half of my site:(

Like a lot of people, I would love nothing more than to earn a living blogging. I love writing and talking to people from all over the world, but trying to turn my Revellian blog into a money blog just doesn’t feel right to me. Most of my readers would probably lose interest in my blog if I did. I am thinking about starting a new blog that is aimed only at cash, that’s right - jack, duckies, greenbacks, cash, currency, lucre, wampum, bread, cabbage, dough, gelt, green, lettuce, long green, mazuma, moola, scratch.

Should I market a product or a service? I thought of offering high class foot massages to women all over the world for $2000.00 each. I fly to their homes, administer the dream foot massage of a lifetime leaving them writhing in passion and desire. Too much money to charge? I think it’s quite a bargain, I am a master of the female foot massage and have been told on many occasions :smile: I also thought of a BobbyBear stuffed BobbyAnimal for everyone to buy, take home and place me on their bed next to their other stuffed animals. I know this sounds silly, that’s why I am asking you!

I am asking all of you to please help me find my way! Should I not start a cash blog and try to make it with this one? If I do start another blog what should I sell, what should it be? I just don’t know what I should do and I don’t want to be one of those cash bloggers who have no friends. Most of those blogs have 25,000 suscribers but none of them are friends. Should I forget the whole thing and just keep my blog as a friend blog? Honestly, I would much rather sell products on another blog and keep this one personal.

    Hi bobby! Selling product in another blog would be good. I think you might be able to go through with just selling BobbyBear and BobbyAnimal. Of course it must be cute and cuddling. Like u, :P

    I think you can make money from this blog as well. Apart from your usual fantastic posts, you can also continue writing about the technical side of blogging in layman’s terms. That would probably work :grin: .

    Most blogs about blogging write posts in a “you should know this by now” kind of way. Your feedburner post was a great example of providing useful information without sounding like all the others.

    Brown Baron: Thanks! I think I might even need to write the laymans terms in a more simplistic manner! I had lot’s of readers who still don’t understand but they will never understand any of the more popular instruction blogs either! I will continue :smile:

    Hello Bobby! Selling products in another blog would be a good idea. You have wrote so many insightful and good articles, ever thought of selling them as e-books? Or calendar with your tips at the bottom of the calendar? Or write a book about blogging and have it published and sell it online. Lulu.com provides the publishing service.

    hi bobby u r doing great work at your blogs..and thats good idea to have another blog aiming for cash i did the same with my forex blog it makes u focus better on your blogs aims really …blogging for writing and talking to people and another blog for cash why not :?: hey go for it …good luck :grin:

    Lili: Thanks Lili, I have always liked you a lot. When I first met you I noticed that you had more than one blog and it took me a while of looking at many blogs to see who read what and so on. As a guy who is really not a “cash” blogger I always stayed away from reading most simply because of the type of people who do spend most of their time reading them. You are much different than most and I always look to you as as example of what a blogger, no matter what they write about should be; an excellent person :smile:

    Bobby, I gotta be honest with you. The first time I surfed over here after your last template change I was a little shocked at all the ads.

    I was like ‘This isnt what this blog is about… is it?

    And then I realized it’s yours, you can do what you want, I’ll keep reading regardless.

    But, I keep coming back to that first reaction. I think the people that currently read THIS blog, and those that find you through links on like-minded blogs would be a little confused, if not put off.

    If you want a cash blog, that’s great. Send me a link and I’ll click on five ads a day for you. I found THIS blog by searching for ‘blogs friends community’ and some other similar key words.

    Just my two cents, man. Just don’t change your header to a guy wearing a cheap suit and leaning against a 10-year old Porsche. :wink:

    Seiche, I might as well tell you that part of the reason I have done this is part of an experiment of sorts. I already knew what the results would be but I wanted proof for my readers who may not understand. I fully expected readers to be put off by a seemingly change of intention in my blog. Nothing is changing and this blog will have ads but will not be focused as a cash blog. I write for a different reason than for money as I’m sure you already know. I am very glad you wrote your comment because I expected nothing less than what you gave me, the absolute truth. You just sparked an idea for a post :smile:

    Oh Bobby, I’m sorry I forgot to go back and list your name! I’ll do that right now, I have way too many things I have to remember, I need to write things down! Yes the award will never fit on a three column blog, I just had to include the word award, in the award, lol.

    I think that you should do what you truly want to. If you are interested in having a cash blog then go for it! If you’re really stuck on whether or not something is a good idea, you can do something called the “rocking chair test.” You imagine yourself in the future (old in your rocking chair) and look back at your life. You can use this technique to decide what you would think of your decisions in the future. (Would you be proud? Would you regret it?) You might gain a bit of insight from it.

Let everybody know the romantic side & little talents of bobby besides the “forever complicated technie” blog that you wrote… LOL

    I definitely think it would be a good idea to separate this blog from the cash blog. Maybe have the more technical info on the other one, and the more personal posts on this one. Just a thought. I’ll still read both! :)

    Hello Bobby, what? U wanna start a new blog? A money-making one? He he.. Emmm, okay, I think you should have a separate one for it. I like this site the way it is, so my suggestion is to maintain this one as it is. Don’t mix ur money-making stuff here if you’re serious abt having a new blog.

    In my opinion, if u wanna talk about money, then it is better at another blog. But about adsenssseeee adss here or any kind of ads, it’s your rights, and almost all bloggers do that, nothing wrong right? Especially we live now in a world of money, almost all things now need money even go to pisssss at the public toilet huhu. Everyone need money right? So for those who said that they don;t need money, that’s a liar and hypocrites only ;)
    But like me, i don;t need money through blogging for my fortune, but just to serve my bad economy now, to help my parents and so on. I don;t wanna be a rich , and so wealthy guy!! Just to earn for living and maybe a little extra to let me do my secret works :)
    So i think if you put ads in your blog here nothing wrong with that, you can still have your audiences because they know u well i think hehe. And just like in TV , radio and so on, everywhere is ads now, so it’s like take a break entertainment too :D And if we see carefully, most of the ads are the links to informative websites and websites that many peoples wanna go and buy something. So it’s like we make other peoples job easier too??

    There is nothing wrong with having ads on any site as long as we click every ad each time we visit! Actually I’m just testing the waters before I quit the sno-cone stand :smile:
