Google Announces No More Pagerank!?

Breaking News!

I just read a post from my friend at Adsense Tracker. I have been reading her truly amazing blog and was shocked to see she has the story of the year! She would not reveal how she got this information but if this is true, she broke it FIRST! Here is an excerpt:

In a nod to Web 2.0 and in an effort to make the Google experience more user-centric, Google will end the system of assigning each web page a Page Rank based on an algorithm of links, quality and popularity. Instead, each page will have a Page Rate assigned by the readers.

Have you read her blog? This girl is simply amazing and I love the fact that a female has the STORY OF THE YEAR in my opinion (provided of course that it is true).

Read this breaking news here: Google Announces End of Page Rank

Adsense Tracker ROCKS!!!!!

Next we can discuss why this is the worst decision Google has ever made!

Looking forward to the new system. When will it be available? Woot!

  2. Revellian on September 25th, 2007 11:54 pm

Rolando: I’m not so sure it’s a good idea. If individuals rate pages then the big money bloggers will bury us. One cash blogger could pay a staff to rate all individual blog pages the lowest possible score. Normal bloggers aren’t going to take the time to rate EVERY SINGLE POST IN EXISTENCE. Money bloggers will do it 24-7-365. That scares me!

  3. Angel on September 26th, 2007 12:37 am

You realize of course none of that is true, right?

  4. Revellian on September 26th, 2007 12:38 am

Angel: I didn’t say it was true! I have no idea if it’s true or not. I’m saying if it is true, it’s the story of the year on the comedy channel!

  5. NAFA on September 26th, 2007 12:39 am

    Hi Bobby!

Woah that’s quite a shocking news from Google. If it is true. And u were just talking about this to us the other time…

Hmm…we just have to wait and see how this new system works. Hope that the system would produce a positive outcome for us all.

  6. Revellian on September 26th, 2007 12:45 am

NAFA: We will know pretty soon! I have no idea if it’s true or not. Her information was pretty complete and sounds plausible to me!

  7. Rolando on September 26th, 2007 12:52 am

oh, I didn’t know that the big boys could manipulate the system like that. booo!

  8. Revellian on September 26th, 2007 1:00 am

Rolando: I left a comment of this announcement on virtually every big blog with a link to my post. Lets see which ones actually leave me a comment or dismiss it as B.S. It could be wrong, but I didn’t break the story! It’s a joke Rolando!

  9. Michael on September 26th, 2007 1:21 am

The article was filed under the category of “humor”.

    Michael: I know!

  11. Genie Princess on September 26th, 2007 1:41 am

Bobby, I’ll make time to read the article. If the recommendation comes from Bobby, then it must be worth reading! Thanks! :)

Genie Princess: It’s a Joke genie Princess!

  13. Aaron Cook on September 26th, 2007 1:48 am

Not true at all Bobby. The girl I sublet one of my apartments to works for G and has verified the falsity. Plus, the post itself is labeled under “humor”. So, it’s obviously an attempt at link bait (IMHO). But a poor one at that.

    Shine on,
    Aaron

  14. Revellian on September 26th, 2007 1:52 am

Aaron Cook: I thought it was funny! I have it filed under humor too!

  15. Aaron Cook on September 26th, 2007 2:03 am

Ha ha, j/k! That was a good one. I just couldn’t keep the comment joke going at the expense of its creators, for I like ‘em. Hi AdSense Tracker!
    Shine on,
    Aaron

  16. Aaron Cook on September 26th, 2007 2:14 am

Bobby says, “I thought it was funny! I have it filed under humor too!”

That’s one of the many reasons why I like you, my friend. You know good stuff when you see it. I would’ve liked to be able to play it out longer, but that just wouldn’t be cool to do on someone else’s blog I don’t think.

Nonetheless, I think people will get a kick outta your post on it. Plus, it makes me think about April Fool’s Day. I know you’ve gotta be a prankster!

  17. Revellian on September 26th, 2007 2:15 am

Aaron Cook: Regardless of Adsense Trackers Joke Post, she really is a great blogger and I like her a lot! I am driving a wedge between myself and most of the A-Listers. Not only do I want nothing to do with them, I DON’T NEED THEIR SUPPORT TO WIN IN THIS GAME! This way has 100 times the probability of success than kissing their uncaring asses!

  18. WaterLearner on September 26th, 2007 2:49 am

    Bobby,

I have to be honest. I still don’t understand this page rank thing.

If you know where to help rank a page, do let me know. I will rank for my blog buddies like yourself :-)
BTW, you see the cute nice icons that you put up linking to Janice, Marzie, Jean, Emila and Nafa? .. How do I do one for myself? Must use some design software?

    Have a Nice Day Bobby!

  19. Revellian on September 26th, 2007 2:50 am

WaterLearner: Jean made them! Ask her to make you one and I will be more than happy to add it in my sidebar!

  20. Ad Tracker on September 26th, 2007 2:55 am

LOL!!! Thanks for the link love, Bobby! :)

  21. Revellian on September 26th, 2007 3:10 am

Ad Tracker: I knew you would like that! The A-Listers consider stuff like this to ruin a bloggers credibility. I don’t care about those 8 people! I care about the 55 million other people that deserve to be acknowledged. I have to tell you tha I am SO DISAPPOINTED in the A-List crowd. They completely ignore me and every one else! I have more friends than all of them combined. The people that read them don’t care about anything but money! What is your first name? I really like your blog, you have a great sense of humor!

  22. Garry Conn on September 26th, 2007 3:33 am

Whether this story is true or not, it will be sure to stir up a decent dust storm in the blogosphere. Nice work and you should be enjoying quite a bit of traffic from it. :)

  23. Revellian on September 26th, 2007 4:12 am

Garry Conn: Thanks Garry! I make new friends everyday, and after a month or so, I really get to know them. I have 122 posts with 2485 comments! 75% of these comments are really from the last 60 or so posts. Exactly 50% of them are mine. If I don’t answer a comment it’s an accident! I believe this approach of compassionate friendships is superior in power and is really “new” in the blogosphere. It takes longer to rise but I plan to stay for the long haul.

I am here to do something beneficial for humanity and make a living doing it. My readers are the most awesome people I have ever met and I truly love them with all my heart. I welcome you as my new friend and I am so proud of you as a blogger! I think it was inevitable that I met you! Here’s to you Garry Conn, for giving me even more hope that business and friendship go hand in hand. Like a good mom & pops restaurant filled with friends, so can be the blogosphere. All of us have the ability to do anything. The web is an infant and this is just the beginning!!!!!

  24. Janice on September 26th, 2007 4:16 am

Bobby, thanks for sharing once again.
I was shocked that google page rank is coming to an end. You ending note mentioned that it is not a good idea. Cant wait to read more….

Janice: It’s a joke janice! Page rank is not coming to an end!

  28. Dawn on September 26th, 2007 6:32 am

If this were to come true, can you just imagine the absolute panic and horror surrounding those with high PR at the thought that they may that they may drop a point or two in rank for awhile? I’d love to sit back with a bucket of popcorn and watch that show, let me tell you…

  29. Revellian on September 26th, 2007 6:33 am

Dawn: After I published this gag article, I went and placed comments about “story of the year is yesterdays news” on 8 A-list blogs. Most scurried over and NONE left a comment. I’m sure they left thinking,”What an idiot, he now has no credibility”.

I did it on purpose because when my blog becomes high ranked (I know that it eventually will be) they will remember me. I dare any of them to even ask me a question or try to be my friend. Sorry, a hollow, meaningless friendship based on a lust for cash is MEANINGLESS to me. Sure, I plan to make money, but what I do with it and any power I gain will be SHOCKING to all of them. I’d love to have the attention of 40 million people and actually have them listen.

I like to stir up controversy and burst bubbles. I’ll do whatever it takes to make all the followers realize something: there are 50-100 million or so blogs. A teeny tiny minority of them run the show. Who’s fault is that? It our fault. Wouldn’t it be crazy if 50 million people stopped reading all these top blogs all at once? Google would have a nuclear meltdown. I can dream can I not? Ha ha ha

  30. Mark on September 26th, 2007 6:54 am

Shocking indeed. Not to be a pessimist, but I worry about how this new system is going to be abused. As we’ve seen with the recent BlogRush announcements, since Day One losers were cheating the system with automated bots to help them gain more exposure. But I guess you can’t avoid something like this. First it was keywords, and everyone stuff their pages with all sorts of things. Then it was link farms, and Google got wise to that as well. So maybe they have in their arsenal something that’s meant to squash the abusers from gaming the system.

  31. Revellian on September 26th, 2007 7:03 am

Mark: It ok buddy! Don’t worry, it’s a gag article! I saw it on Ad Trackers site and at 1st I was like, “How on Earth did she get this info?” When she said she would be fired for giving up her source I realized. The article is posted under humor! I wanted to ruffle feathers all over the net just to make a point that things are often not what they appear to be!

  32. Christy on September 26th, 2007 7:13 am

If it were true it wouldn’t be as good as it initially sounds, I’d rather be have my content judged my google than by people passing by, lol. Scary!

  33. Revellian on September 26th, 2007 7:16 am

Christy: Me too! Think of how you could be destroyed in 5 minutes! I’d rather work a program than a bunch of greedy, blood thirsty money bloggers, LOL!

  34. Lisa on September 26th, 2007 7:17 am

This is interesting. Update us on this, would you?

  35. Revellian on September 26th, 2007 7:18 am

Lisa: It’s a joke article Lisa! Just scaring people all across the net, he hehe!

  36. Random Magus on September 26th, 2007 10:19 am

I am going to sound so very stupid when I reveal that I don’t even kow what page rank signifies *blush blush*

  37. Revellian on September 26th, 2007 10:20 am

Random Magus:I’ll tell you this Amber, the way I rank a page is by how much heart and honesty is behind it’s intent!

  38. Lisa on September 26th, 2007 10:43 am

Funny. I really should read the comments. :D

  39. Revellian on September 26th, 2007 10:45 am

Lisa: It is my hope that one day ideas like compassion and honesty will be the criteria by which all blogs are judged. They will be judged and sometimes that in itself is so sad!

  40. Crenk on September 26th, 2007 10:52 am

This is a cool article and i read the adsense tracker.. very well done.

  41. Revellian on September 26th, 2007 10:53 am

Crenk: The truth is, I don’t care what Google does, I don’t like their low business standards

  42. Mighty Morgan on September 26th, 2007 2:02 pm

Nice one Bobby…always keeping people on their toes!! I like how your taking a stand to redefine the standards that others don’t seem to question! That’s probably the number one reason I read YOU and none of the “others”

  43. Revellian on September 26th, 2007 5:32 pm

Mighty Morgan: I had some A-listers come by, and they left, leaving no comments! If I say something bad about them or announce some shocking B.S., they’ll come by. How impressive they are!

  44. Janice on September 26th, 2007 8:56 pm

Hahahaha….. ic that its just a hoax huh….:):)

    Janice Ng

  45. Revellian on September 26th, 2007 9:00 pm

Janice: Yes. It controlled the minds of specific people based on what I discussed in the tales of BloggerX. Many thought it was true. A few A-listers came here and left thinking that I just destroyed my reputation and that I’m stupid. They will not be back. That’s because I DON’T WANT THEM HERE. How easy it is to change a persons perception with one post. Now I say that they do this everyday to the people to get money from them!

  46. emila on September 27th, 2007 7:54 am

Heheh I was shocked at first but glad it’s just a humor.

  47. Revellian on September 27th, 2007 8:12 am

Emila: Darn, I almost gotcha! LOL

  48. Mitchell Allen on September 27th, 2007 5:44 pm

evergreen hoax about PageRANK = ageless PRANK

I tried to comment earlier today, but you had too many CPUs or something. I found you on Technorati.com, wrote about you on Communati.com and bookmarked you at Home :)
You are my kinda guy. Two of my best friends play guitar, must be the fretboard, but you guys rock!

I like your playful style. I’ll be back to comment on my favorite DOKA

    Cheers,

    Mitch

  49. Revellian on September 27th, 2007 7:33 pm

Mitchell Allen: I did it on purpose to lose credibility with most A-list bloggers. Why? Because they lost credibility with me long ago!

  50. Nihal on September 30th, 2007 10:01 am

OMG, when I saw the header I thought we were gone!!! But, I’m really happy that it’s all a joke
We definitely would be busted back to bottom, if this really took place, knowing that all the top players having the financial capacities within them to manipulate this.

Definitely the story of the year

  51. mush mush on October 1st, 2007 12:47 am

Actually, that makes a bit of sense. Wouldn’t that make sense if it provided more info on everyone who does read it? Although, it would be like the other ranking system and we already have one of those. It provides more of a unique look at it. Maybe I have no idea what I am talking about lol

  52. Revellian on October 1st, 2007 1:02 am

mush mush: Of course this was a joke article but if it were true, the small blogs would be buried. The problem in the blogosphere is that people trying to move up, keep linking and advertising on big blogs like John Chow! Thats the reason the majority of blogs stay small and a teeny-tiny handful stay on top! If John Chow linked to me, I’d redirect it to a porn site because I would be EXTREMELY embarrassed to be associated with him!

  53. mr fong on October 3rd, 2007 5:55 am

  55. Education Blogger on October 9th, 2007 1:51 pm

Her article and adsense tracker cracked me up…! But i also found it interesting that i wouldn’t be all that surprised if Google did get rid of pagerank…. who knows huh! Guess we will all just have to wait and see!

Education Blogger’s last blog post..College Ghost Stories: Four Frightening Tales

  56. Revellian on October 9th, 2007 1:52 pm

@Education Blogger: I thought it was funny and very believable too! Google will not end page rank any time soon.
