Helping Humanity Through Blog Marketing

Money and Marketing Blogs Rule the Blogosphere

While personal and other types of blogs may out number money oriented blogs, they currently have no chance of getting things done. What kinds of things? Ideas like fighting hunger, racism, poverty and promoting world peace are but a few.

Many of us would like to think that because of our numbers, we can have a chance of achieving these goals by standing together. If 50, 000 bloggers write posts about feeding starving babies, will it help? The answer is no. It’s not enough. There are many reasons why it won’t do much and I hope this article will help you understand why.

The average money blogger runs their blog much smarter than most personal bloggers. Their blogs are beautifully optimized for search engines, they use clean templates, use wise strategies and apply seo thoeries. The average blogger doesn’t know what any of this is!

Run Your Blog Like a Money Blog

Let’s say you have a personal blog and you want to help in the fight against world hunger. You and 100,000 friends all join together to raise awareness for this important issue. Your blog’s homepage is extremely cluttered and is 548 KB in size (it should be no larger than 100 KB). You have 45 categories and every post has 19 pictures and a video.

Your 100,000 friends have blogs with the same problems. You all write your important posts to fight hunger and hope for the best. Now you have 100,101 posts that will be ignored by the search engines and it will probably lower your pagerank (if you had any).

Not one of the posts used an effective title (all had similar or the same title), none used smart keyword choices and worst of all - they all linked to each other using anchor text like “this post” or “read this”.

Learn the Basics

If the above paragraph confused you, it’s time to learn the basics of good blogging. I’m not just talking about your content. I’m referring to sloppy html, too many sidebar widgets and other things that can cut your power by 50% or more.

I’m frustrated because we are shortchanging ourselves by having great ideas but having no clue how to make it happen.

Money Bloggers Depend On Your Lack of Internet Skills

Money motivates bloggers to run clean blogs which are seo optimized. Regular folks don’t have the same motivation so they spin their wheels. You may not care anything about any of this. Whatever your goals are in blogging, running your blog like a pro is the key to success.

If you are a writer of fictional stories and want a book deal, having a sloppy blog will not help you. Anything can be accomplished through blogging and more possibilities are born everyday. Take advantage of your real power and be competitive! You don’t have to be a money blogger to run your blog correctly!

We practice blog marketing everyday even if we don’t think we do. Blogging isn’t just writing, it’s a technology. Now, anyone with no technological skills whatsoever can have a blog. Money bloggers love this! In most cases, new people are no match for them.

Doing something great for humanity through our blogs is a dream of mine and many of you. We must work together, be smart in how we run our blogs and not be concerned with getting credit for our work. The credit is to those who are helped! We are citizens of humanity and the world.

    Hi Bobby…

Wow we love this post! We agree with u. Blogging is not about self, it’s also about others too, and if we were to do something just to gain credits, we doubt it will bring us further in the blogosphere.

It is true that it takes a smart blogger to have a well-maintained blog with proper optimization, but we believe anyone can be that smart blogger, if he or she is willing to research on the various aspects of blogging that can make him or her attain success through blogging. U won’t become an excellent blogger over night, but u can eventually be one with full perseverance and commitment to keep on learning about blogging.

Thanks for this post Bobby. We have so much to learn ourselves, and we know we can count on u to teach us.

Hey Nafa! I felt like I came across harshly in this post but I don’t know how else to say it. I think a better way to say it is that we teach eachother! You guys (and girls) have done some extremely nice things and nobody expected you to. You did it because you want to help.

Every person has special talents, abilities and ideas. Awareness is the start. An action has been taken and it’s the 1st step. Awareness has to remain high! Year round, we get one person at a time to be our friends and so on. We are all equals and have much to contribute! We won’t remain small fish in a big sea for too much longer. We all need to be big fish who stick together!

Although I will miss the rotating banner, this new look is very, very nice. Professional yet hip and approachable, much like I think the author leads his life.
Normally, I don’t really care about stuff like this. But since you’ve started in this direction, I find myslef more and more interested in just how all this stuff works. You break it all down simply yet effectively, and without that holier-than-thou attitude you find on the big money blogs.

And I didn’t find the tone harsh at all. More in that “wake up” sort of tone. Great post, Bobby.

Thanks Seiche! So many incredible writers remain invisible because they don’t know what they are doing! They don’t realize the power they have. I can name 30 bloggers who are EASILY good enough to be putting out novels, writing textbooks or to be world renowned experts and influential voices in every area known.

I’m glad you see the meaning of this post. I had to switch to another template as the other one was too slow and had a few bad security holes. I think I like the cleaner look too!

I couldn’t agree more Bobby! And I like to take it even one stop further and run it like it’s a business as well. I wonder how many bloggers introduce themselves to new people and share that they’re bloggers and give out their URLs. I always do. There’s not one new person that I meet that doesn’t walk away knowing what my blog is and where to find it. Offline marketing isn’t just for companies!

A successful business owner will always talk about his/her company and its products, and a successful blogger will always talk about his/her blog…because in a way, your blog is your company AND your products. Honestly, I don’t know one successful blogger who doesn’t follow those principles of basic business. It’s all marketing. And if there’s one thing to remember it’s that you’re always marketing yourself one way or another, whether you know it or not.
“Run your blog like a money blog.” Damn straight Bobby!

  6. Revellian on October 9th, 2007 8:24 pm

Hi Aaron! Good points. With search engines being so picky, it is a good idea to run a blog like a business. I don’t care if you blog about bunny rabbits and and give love advice to the elderly. I say stand up and be counted.

I know a few female bloggers who would sky rocket if they just cleaned up their site and made their home page smaller. Most of my favourite bloggers are women (I guess I just like them a lot…LOL)

We are all building a name for ourselves. In two years I may start other blogs depending on where the road takes me. This blog is at the very least letting people all over the world know who I am. That is marketing no matter how you slice it.

Your site, Aaron Cook Dot Com. In a few years, there will be millions of people who know who you are. There’s a lot already. In just a few years of getting your name out there will enable you to do anything because you have “branded” yourself!

You said it buddy! And you’re on a right and successful path yourself, no doubt about it! Ever-increasing numbers don’t lie!

Making lots of friends while having fun and building a business is just too cool. I love blogging. I wish I had started back when problogger had his 1st philosophy blog!

  9. Financial Health Zone on October 9th, 2007 9:04 pm

    I agree.

Its really annoying when you land on a page/blog with 15 full posts displaying on the main page, each with pictures and videos.

Its ugly, stupid, and ugly.. .

Most of the people that do this seem to be on Blogger.

People on there own domain learn eventually I guess.

I used to have A TON of stuff in my sidebar. I used sitening.com’s seo analyzer and found out my homepage was 700KB! It said “unacceptable”
It’s now 87 KB, much, much better. Less clutter makes easier navigation and you definetly want that! MySpace? I was there once upon a time

  22. Dawn on October 10th, 2007 7:06 am

You are very right Bobby about people blogging without finding out how things actually work. I have talked on BC with a couple of folks who have been blogging for over a year who didn’t know what the term SEO was! It blows my mind. You would think I was speaking in a foreign tongue when I’ve mentioned even the commonest of things like ‘do follow’ on blogging communities.

Personal bloggers can sometimes tend to (and I may get bashed for this) be lazy enough where they don’t want to put any actual work into the stuff that goes on behind the scenes and they don’t have the incentive to do so that money bloggers do.

While the marketers are all about this stuff because they have to be. They research and implement ways to bolster their search engine placement because not placing high enough = no customers = failure.

  24. Revellian on October 10th, 2007 12:09 pm

So true Dawn! Most folks don’t realize that learning this stuff is fun and fascinating too! At least I find it fascinating!!!! The more I learn about it, the more I like it. It’s open for any of us to do something for our own lives and the lives of others.

I am just a blogging junkie ha ha ha
