Cater to your community

I have my own ethical theories of social networking based on friendship and smart linking techniques. Learn and apply them on your blog now. Don’t put it off!

There are many ways to get ideas for posts. One really good idea is to find a post that is interesting to you and write a related one of your own. I’ve told you all that it’s better to link to someone’s post rather than their home page.

Why? Because it is your content that counts, not your site’s home page!

How To Link To A Related Post From Another Blog

This may seem remedial to many of you but people inadvertently do things that are not good for your site! Incoming links are good, but be smart and helpful to your buddies by doing things that can help them in the way you link!

Find a Few Keyword Phrases For Your Home Page

Use the Google Adword Tool to find a few for your site. To give you some really great hands on experience, I will use some blogging buddies of mine to show you how to be super beneficial and technically proficient!

Let’s look at my very good friend, the Brown Baron. The words ‘Brown Baron‘ are the anchor text in the previous sentence. Now do you see what anchor text is? It is the text which is anchored to the link for his home page.

He writes about technology, gadgets, cool new programs, security bulletins and gives out link love to his fellow bloggers every week. This makes him an inspiration to me and tons of other people. I looked up gadgets with the adword tool and chose the cool, niche related phrase, tech gadgets.

I linked this anchor text to his home page! Now he has an incoming link from me using keyword related anchor text! I could link to his page using a creative sentence like this:

A great technology site is Brown Thoughts, which is about tech gadgets and internet security among many other subjects. Notice I left his site’s title unlinked and linked the key phrases instead! Now he has two beneficial incoming links using strong anchor text.

Use Keywords Everyday On Every Post

A keyword, or keyword phrase is simply something a person will type in their search bar to find information on the web. It’s really just common sense. How will someone find your content by searching the web? Seriously, how will it happen? By using keywords!

Use it in your post and the post title! Work it in naturally. Keep in mind that you can create your own niche and come up with your own key phrases!

Linking To Individual Posts

I will now show you several creative sentences which link to some of my friends posts. All of the chosen anchor text is from Google’s Adword tool. I looked up smart choices to help promote my friend’s posts. Hover your cursor over each link to see how I used the anchor text and where it’s linked to (home page or post).

Mariuca has her readers enter contests like her mug giveaway, celebrating Aidilfitri. The phrase celebrating Aidifitri is easily something that maybe used as a key phrase. It wasn’t listed in the adword tool results, so she has coined her own key phrase without even realizing it! I didn’t use her whole post title, but used the keyword part. It’s in the title and in the post. The phrase enter contests is an actual adword phrase.

This is what I call anchor text love (I coined it first)! I hope you now know how to use anchor text! I leave my adword tool open always. Once you get familiar, you see the web as it really works! You could also (if you’re not sure) ask people what anchor text they want you to use!

How about these: keyword love, niche key phrase love:lol:
