Easily Put All Passwords On A Reference List

This is not for your windows sign on! This will allow you to copy all your current passwords for anything you use in your browser. This is not password hacking, so don’t worry!

Would you like a text file listing all your windows passwords? Currently, I have over 70 different passwords. They are mostly like this: $63547jft)^$8ldbhd7655790pp:.<;”. That’s one tough password to remember. Like me, you probably depend on your browser to automatically remember them for you.

Would you like ultra high security passwords to use? Go to security expert, Steve Gibson’s site and check out his perfect password generator. Use a different password on all your accounts. Please, don’t use a persons name as a password, use a secure password.

You definetly don’t have to worry about becoming a evil hacker! Hackers DO NOT hack using Microsoft Windows! That’s like swimming in quicksand with broken arms. Hackers use Linux, BSD or Unix. Even a MAC is a poor choice to hack with. Tell a real hacker you use WinXP and you will be laughed at.

The reason windows is so easy to hack is because the root is unprotected. You can access the win32 directory and delete it! You cannot do that on a Mac or a Linux OS. The main system passwords are stored as a hash in the SAM file under the win32 directory.

There is a nifty little freeware program that will unlock the passwords for all the sites and accounts you have. Download SIW System Information for Windows. You don’t install it! Just start it up! Go to “secrets” and click. All your passwords will be listed in a very nice list. Copy and paste it into a text file and you’re done!

It’s a great little reference for those times when something weird happens and your browser “forgets” all your passwords! Just keep that text file in a secure place!

Hacking Is A Good Thing

Hackers built the internet! Hackers are necessary for the health of the web also. It’s the evil hackers that cause problems. I am a good (white hat) hacker in training. If you would like to learn how, go read the bible, How To Become A Hacker by Eric Steven Raymond.

What a fun trick! I am terrible with creating strong passwords. I still use stupid stuff like one of my cats’ names. I will have to take your advice and beef up security. I did recently switch to Linux on my laptop and I love it!

Hi Ghee! I don’t see a problem with your technorati authority. I can take anywhere from 1 hour to a few days for a post to show up! You have good page rank! Tech authority simply measures how many blog posts link to your site. The easiest way to raise authority is through old fashioned hard work.

Often when your authority goes up your page rank may go down. This is because you will need a lot more outgoing links in order to gain new incoming links.

You could add the entire list of posts from my seo meme. Then go visit all of them. Leave a comment on their seo meme post that you have added them to yours. Ask them to add your links to theirs! It’s simple viral marketing. The seo meme is not magic but if you work it, it will raise your authority.

Make more friends on my bloglog. Add 15 new contacts and join all 15 of those contacts communities!

Sorry about your problems with technorati. It’s probably temporary. I’ve had a lot of problems with them too. I don’t care about any rankings anymore!

Hi Bobby,

My biggest problem is remembering those passwords. My passwords in my workplace got revoked so many times my MIS department is listing me for “bad behavior”.

At least the Mac is built on the foundation of UNIX! That is what makes it more secure than windows could ever be!

Bobby,
Yes, I know!
I bought my father a Power Mac G5 last year because of that. His Windows OS was always getting hammered with something. My father is click happy. I remember the last time it was hit I spent three days rebuilding his computer because of something he did. I don’t have to worry about that anymore. The bad thing about being certified in A+, Network +, and MCSE is if something happens family/friends call me and think I can go at the drop of the hat to fix their issues, I’m more than happy to assist but I cannot always do it when they want me to, lol.

That’s impressive Opal! I am studying for my Linux certification right now. I thought about MCSE but I hardly ever use windows for anything and Linux has steadily risen in popularity and keeps getting better. I used to repair everyone’s PC’s but I got burned out on it. Most people just don’t know how to use a computer! LOL!!!!!

Excellent article. My passwords are so weak a person who doesn’t know them could probably crack it. I am a regular visitor of this blog, keep up the good work.

I use so many different membership sites like forums and wotnot that I have real trouble remembering passwords when I visit those sites from somewhere else. I used to create a password based on the name of the site and some memorable numbers but it didn’t work so well because I didn’t follow a fixed rule for creating them and if I hadn’t logged in to a site for a few weeks then I couldn’t remember how I had made it’s password! doh!

Hi Andy! When I started blogging I used the same password on everything. Then I went through a paranoia phase of changing them all 10 times per day…LOL! Before I purchased a router, I had some hacker get into my pc and he e-mailed my passwords to me saying “Buy a router even if you only have one pc”! He was a nice hacker for not erasing my hard drive!
