Notice how I “cashed” up my blog to celebrate my new found status as a aristocratic page rank 4 site? That’s right…I’m gonna be rich. If you have a page rank of 0, please leave. I only associate with my kind. I am now, a snob. None of the A-listers have invited me to dinner! I suppose they just haven’t heard yet.

I’m waiting on the Google armored truck to pull up any second. Wait, is that them? False alarm! Wow, I sure wish they would hurry! Will Google be bringing me a new car too? I’m sure they will. What kind of luxury car do page rank 8 sites get?

I’m starting my new novelty entertainment site called, “JudgeJudySexy Dot Com”. I’ll need some guest writers too. Please don’t apply if you are a page rank 0 site. You won’t fit in.

I put all my ads in neatly aligned rows (check my cash style ads in the upper right of my side bar) so I’ll make even more money now! All the big sites have theirs like that so I am sure I’ll make millions off that alone.

My Halloween Costume

So, how do you like my blog’s Halloween costume? I was in the mood for lookin’ evil and what better way, than to “cash it up”! Did you think I would keep it like this? That depends on how many hundreds of thousands of dollars I make this week…he he :lol:
I hope by now you realize this post is absolutely true…just kidding! I don’t care about page rank at all…unless they lower mine. I will be visiting them in person if that happens. Rest assured, they don’t want to meet me. It would get ugly fast, and crowds would explode into riots…the military would be involved - I ADVISE them to leave my page rank be.

I don’t care about it, I just don’t like it getting lower, you know?

I also have a new upcoming website titled, “ParisHiltonIsAWhore Dot Com”. This is going to be a cash juggernaut! If you despise Paris and have writing talent, leave a comment and join the writing staff! :mrgreen:

    So congrats on the PR4!!! Seems you should be higher than that though? I have given up trying to understand PR. I am a PR4 now as well, however, another blog I have done marketing work on (bobbarama.com) is a PR5! Now, I have more links than he does, but he still got a higher PR than me. I don’t sell any links on my blog either so I don’t think I was penalized but who the heck knows. So is PR more than just amount of links? I know in a vague way it’s the PR of the sites linking to you too, but again, I think I come out ahead on that too so I really don’t have a good clue why that blog would get a higher ranking than mine unless age is a factor (of the blog not the person - LOL!!!)

    Anyway, I ramble.

    I’m working on my friendship post. So sorry for the delay. The kids and I have been sick with a bad cold and I’m plumb worn out. How have you been doing?

    Oh and can you recommend a good recent comment plugin? I don’t like the one I am using. And what do you think is best? Recent comments in the sidebar OR Top Commenters? I only have room for one so don’t know which one would be best. And if I do recent comments, how can I make it leave my own comments out? Ok, I’ve gone wacky with questions tonight. Feel free to email me your bill for services. Hehhehehehehhehe!

    I think if I had to choose, I would definetly list my top commenters in a sidebar over recent comments. I’m actually thinking of removing recent comments. You can exclude yourself in presentation-widgets-Top Commentators: just enter your name in the exclude box!

    Page Rank is cyclical which means it goes up and down for everyone, every update. As long as I’m not a 0, I’ll be fine! I need to go read Bobbarama and your “dry” T-shirt contest post! Thanks Polli darling :smile:

    Congrats to everyone that received a PR…

    All of my niche websites were raised. I don’t write on them as often. My biggest went to a PR of 5. That is my secret niche. I wanted to see how well I do without publicizing it. I did not know about the PR’s going up but a friend told me about all of mine.

    Remember diversify and don’t be dependent on Google. If you want to monetize you can do that with 0 PR. I could have paid for my MacBook Pro with the amount I made with my PR 0websites. This way regardless of what Google does to your website you’ll still receive traffic and if you are monetizing you’ll still receive money.

    Hi Opal! Also, that PR0 site will be a PR3 or better in just a few months for virtually anyone. There is no reason not to monetize a new site (especially a niche site) from day one.

    I turned off all my page rank meters so I don’t know any sites PR when I look at it. I think it helps me stay open minded :smile:

    I monetized The Raw & The Cooked & Healing Yourself Naturally from day one. I don’t go crazy with the ads either. The ones that you do have are related to my niche. Having too many ads would be overkill on my websites.

    Have you noticed magazines? Some of them have a crazy amount of ads which is why I no longer subscribe to them. I do understand that is one of the ways that they make money I just wished those that go overboard with the ads also increased the amount of articles to compensate.

    When you do get your Mac dream machine you should check out Mac|Life. It’s a magazine. I really enjoy it and they include a lot of informative articles. Thus far they don’t have an excessive amount of ads.

    Hi Opal! Do you think I have too many ads? I’m just making adjustments based on earnings. I can’t wait to get a Mac! I do wish that the entire OS were open source. It think parts of OSX are open source but there are proprietary elements.

    I have worked with UNIX and Linux for 15 years and Windows is actually new to me. I think that the NTFS file system is poorly designed and filled with problems. Linux will always be my 1st love but I can see a Mac being a great new love :smile:

    No I don’t think you have too many ads. If you are like me you will be playing around with the placement. It took a few months before I landed on areas that got the most attention.

    I would also recommend checking out your stats. See what some of the top keywords are that brings people to your website and then place an appropriate ad. That’s what I did with my niche websites. :wink:

    Oh yeah…I have been checking my keywords. I think that the keywords you naturally inherit are easier to work with than trying to make a chosen keyword be your biggie. I have adsense now and it’s doing well in just 2 days!

    I will keep my site going the same way. I may adjust my ad placement etc. but my content will remain on the same path as the day I started blogging. It keeps me loving what I do and I cannot change that for any amount of money.

    Thanks so much for helping me understand the ideas behind all this stuff. I have learned more from you than any other single person. :smile:

    Anytime…I’m a newbie to it but I do use what I’ve learned in business into my websites. I even do that on Vegan Momma I treat them exactly how I treat my customers. I listen, respond, visit.

    On vegan momma the same words show up every single month. eventually I might place a tiny affiliate block up somewhere. I think I’ll put that on my main website. My blog is in a subdirectory many people think that is my main page. It’s not. I have a lot of work to do on the main website and that focus will be on veganism nothing else. That won’t be a blog.

    Currently I only use Amazon on Vegan Momma and that does very well. I receive affiliate earnings from that simple placement several times weekly.

    Congrats on the adsense. The placement seems to be working for you. :-)

    I am an Amazon Affiliate too but I have had no success at all with it. Their control panel is confusing and they have a ton of options. I just haven’t learned to use their offerings quite yet.

    I have only been monitoring keywords for 2 months and I don’t have nearly enough statistics to go on yet. There is a lot to learn. I have learned that keywords need to be looked at in their relation to other words, surrounding text, category, hits, search phrases and actual natural hits (as well as referral) as it all relates to my site and related sites.

    I might have enough to go on but I am currently studying up so my level of true understanding will become absolute. Amazon has a huge amount of ways and programs to make money and I would like to learn how I can implement something into my site :idea:

While checking my Technorati authority I noticed it had increased; when checking further I see it’s increased because of two links from a site I’ve never heard of, linking my latest post! It’s on some weird site msense dot net and if you search Maxim magazine you’ll find my post attributed to http scott king dot info, but the link comes back to me!

    Everyone would like to believe they don’t care about page rank. The truth is, we do care to a certain extent. It is an important rating. If you, I or anyone didn’t care - we wouldn’t be writing about it.

    When I see a big money site write about how they don’t care, then I KNOW they care…LOL!!!! Sara…you have got to stop thinking about PR. Remember, that if you can rank a little higher next update, then maybe I’ll actually talk to you…LOL :lol:

I don’t see any reader comments but I do see adsense ads. Does this qualify as being illegal? I’m checking that out now :smile:

    After reading your post, I went to a page rank calculator and according to it I have a Page Rank of 3. I proved it by doing a search for “boricua in Texas.” Sure enough, my blog was the third on the list. Which is kinda cool, but doesn’t mean a thing. Being ranked 3 in my case does not guarantee traffic, as there really are not too many people doing searches for Puerto Ricans (boricuas) in Texas. I do not have a single visitor who has reached me by doing a search for that combination of words. My blog is low-traffic (average 24 readers per day). And I am OK with that. So the whole page rank is totally relative.

    Something is rotten in Denmark….well at least in Google. I have been showing a 0 page rank for ever, then, seemingly overnight, mine also went to a 4. I am actually proudly displaying it on my site. What does that tell you about me…………….Don’t answer that!! Does this mean I am a member, in questionable standing, in the PG4 club??
