My dear friend Marzie had her Christmas Mug Contest (click here to read what I wrote to win!) and finally announced the winner – little ol’ me! Marzie is one of my best friends ever and I will cherish this forever! I obviously don’t have it in hand yet, but I will post some pictures of me holding it when it arrives all the way from Malaysia! This really brought a much needed feeling of happiness!

Bobby’s Batch #4 – Shimmering Stars

The world doesn’t change for anybody. I cannot change the world or the people in it. I can only control what I do. My goal is to learn and to change, which it seems, happens every day. I had several comments (on my previous post) that really made me think.

I sometimes wish I had no intellect, no philosophical insight and could live by the old phrase, “ignorance is bliss”. To be absolutely honest, I often feel bad after I write certain things because I know people often take my meanings the wrong way (which is my fault).

I have never learned anything of true value, of depth and of revelation, without being jarred deeply from my beliefs. When someone says or does something that really affects you, it may hurt. It may make you angry. However, when the storm subsides – a powerful lesson is often learned!

Each of us are people and we all have feelings. Again and again, I am reminded of how beautiful this technology of blogging is. It brings us all together. We learn from each other. We lean on each other.

I admit, I often let my emotions pour on the pages of this blog. I write as honestly and passionately as I can. I cannot hold back how I feel. I can and will always listen to you all. I have learned more from the wonderful people in the blogosphere than from anyone.

I want to say something that all of you need to hear. My friend Zubli Zaindorin has been through some terrible things lately. Zubli is my friend and I will never say anything bad about him or any of my friends.

When someone comes to me, and tells me something horrible about someone – behind their back; I know that person is doing the wrong thing (we’ve all probably done it and had it done to us). If you don’t understand this or know the details, consider yourself lucky (I’m not going to explain to anyone). Zubli is a good person and has always been a good friend to me. I will stand proudly as his friend regardless of what a few people think.

You have many friends Zubli, and I am proud to be one of them! Today, I move forward with a renewed positivity. Remember this, spreading rumors is something children do – not adults. Let us keep our minds and hearts open for new ideas and new lessons. One thing I will not be doing anymore is saying negative things about “money blogs”. It doesn’t reflect well on my character and being mad at the world will not help anyone…live and learn.

I am not feeling well, but I still need to get this week’s batch done. So here are some shimmering stars! I had something great happen for me today but you’ll need to wait for my next post to see what it is.

revellian-dot-com.JPG

My sweet friend Judy wrote a post, I’ve Got a Little Light… which states something beautiful and meaningful! Thanks Judy, you inspired me!

My new friend Mitchell Allen wrote a hilarious post, Grave Error. It’s so well written and creative, it deserves acclaim! What great work!

My friend Paisley wrote a great post entitled Introduction. It’s about her dream and how she helps senior citizens. This is compelling work to say the least.

My friend The Mighty Morgan wrote a beautiful piece about her inner turmoils and the struggles of moving forward with her dreams, One Step Forward. Morgan expresses what many of us feel, such an honest expression.

My friend Square1 pointed me in the direction of a blog, The Individual Voice. I found several passionately written posts and was happy to have read them. The author TIV wrote a post entitled Why Politics Matter; I found it very interesting and highly recommend you read it!

My friend Emila drew a picture a few weeks ago that I really loved. It’s of her son Yassin, and the background was done with real coffee. It is entitled Moleskine: Yassin. Please go take a look!

My friend Bush Mackel wrote a post that made me think all last week and even into this week! I admit, I had a martial arts instructor who made such an incredibly profound mark on my life, it actually affected me in some negative ways. I learned the deepest of philosophy and the way of thought implanted in me remains absolutely indelible. I struggle with any type of self promotion. I was taught to be humble (perhaps in a destructive way). I believe I take it to an extreme. Bush wrote a post Why Write When No One is Reading? He is right. Many of us do avoid being successful…on purpose. His message is straight forward and really had an impact on me. I highly recommend you all read it, no matter what kind of blog you have!

My friend Karen wrote a very cool post, The Emperor and the Seed. I just loved it! As with many of her posts, there is a profound lesson to be learned!

Last, but certainly not least, is a fantastic post from my friend Andrea, entitled Do Parents Need a License? This is but one of many fantastic posts from Andrea. I regret not giving more attention to her blog(s). Truthfully, she has one of the most meaningful blogs I’ve seen. She also has a brand new blog, Mind Body and Soul!

I’m a Mad Cat

What is wrong with the world? What is wrong in the blogosphere? The purest explanation is the imperious impudicity and inanity most of us express and exhibit through our actions. If someone writes something of actual value, with true meaning and depth; it will remain ignored.

With so many greed driven bloggers hell bent on keyword targeting and such, bloggers with important ideas are buried in the rubble. This is the same reason American Idol is more important than people dying in wars. This is why humankind is at it most disappointing stage in history. Do you think I’m being negative or overreacting?

mr-mad-cat.jpg

Loki “Mr. Mad Cat” says he’s with me on this!

People want compliments and pats on the back. You’re wonderful…NO…you’re twice as wonderful as I am….NO, NO, NO….you’re three times as wonderful as me…isn’t it wonderful? Hahahahaha

I don’t need someone patting me on the back, there are much more important issues at hand in this world. What could be more important than Britney Spears and who has the hottest, red carpet body? Most people think, “But I don’t like politics…and I cannot miss what Simon Cowell says next! The news is so depressing…I must have fun all day!”

Don’t you understand that this is why the world is at risk for total destruction? Does the thought of billions of people burning to death in a nuclear inferno bother you? What are YOU going to do about it? Many of you are thinking, “Shut up! I’m trying to giggle and squirm in a frenzy of fun!”

People seem to only care about superficial ideals. Am I alone in feeling this way? When I look at the most popular blogs on the web, hardly any of them have substance. They are all about how to make money and how to teach others to do the same.

I’m sorry, but making money is the least important subject on Earth. What is important is stopping all these wars, and educating children…giving medical care to people who cannot afford it and feeding children who are starving to death…but we watch American Idol instead, living in apathetic decadence.

What am I doing about it? I study every political figure in local, state and national governments and am DOING MY PART BY VOTING FOR THE PEOPLE I BELIEVE WILL HELP PROLIFERATE REAL CHANGES IN THIS WORLD. All the problems in America are caused by lazy, carefree citizens. Most people who do vote know nothing about why or who they are voting for…how scary.

I am neither democrat or republican; I vote for who I agree with. Socialized health care and anti war policies are at the core of my beliefs. Instead of killing people all over the world, America should be giving us health care. Big corporations are killing the American dream along with the dreams of people all over the world.

I am not writing my weekly “Bobby’s Batch” post until tomorrow. Right this moment, I am embarrassed to be an American. I am ashamed of what this country has done and the shallow ideals we spread across this world.

The beautiful and majestic “Mr. Mad Cat” was photographed by Ian Benninghaus from the web site In Focus Imagery (the site is currently under construction but be sure to check out his incredible photography by clicking his name above). The cat’s name is Loki. The photographer says this about his cat, “The toughest beast in all the Nor’ east.
Mr. Personality, the most photogenic cat in all the land.”

Loki captured my mood perfectly for this post.

Revelliantology For Newbies

The first time I ever heard of ‘the law of attraction’, I knew exactly what it was – before I actually read a book about it. Someone simply relabeled positive thinking, positive self projection and persuasion with a catchy new title and some quasi-elitist, highly vernacular jargon. It just amazes me that relabeling something thousands of years old can catch on so feverishly.

I’m not saying it doesn’t work, I just cannot bring myself to call it ‘The Law of Attraction’. It’s like a more metaphysical scientology. I should relabel ‘getting laid’ as ‘Revelliantology, the spiritual science of sexual magnetism’. Here’s my idea – maybe I’ll be a billionaire soon:

Revelliantology

Revelliantology

Now…the next time you have a heated romantic interlude, refer to it as the ‘Science of Revellianism‘. What’s even funnier, is that I could actually write this book!

Help Preserve Net Neutrality

Imagine the Internet owned and operated by huge corporations much like phone and cable companies are. Imagine the last vestige of worldwide democracy – stripped from our lives. Imagine chatting with buddies on line being just one of thousands of paid services.

This is a frightening thought, and is a very real possibility. Could you imagine having to pay for a long distance Internet service just to read a friend’s blog who lives in another country? That would ruin my life in many respects.

Each of us has a choice to create any site or blog we want and we are all equals! We must decide what we are here for. I’m here for the people. I am not here to make money or to sell anything (though that’s your right, and what a beautiful right that is). I am here to fight for and stand up for what is right. The web is built on open principles, but that is in jeopardy.

I am asking all of you to become aware of issues beyond yourself, and do something about it. Learn about the government where you live and vote for candidates you agree with. In America, most people don’t vote. We are about to have a presidential election, so be sure to participate. It really freaks me out to see people who don’t vote. It is your responsibility.

My friend Euroyank has a post entitled The American Idiot Box. I highly recommend you check this post out. Make sure you watch the 1st video on that post with the words ‘Independent Media in Wartime’ beneath it. You should look at his site thoroughly and read all his latest posts. They are getting better every day.

The Power of Blogging

“As Bloggers, we create our own media. We are a powerful force in the global environment. We cannot let that power be taken away from us.”

I found two sites today I think every blogger should read. The first is:

Save the Internet: Click here

Each and every blogger and site owner should display a badge from this website. Just because you aren’t from America doesn’t mean you cannot help. Display the badge so everyone who comes to your site will see it. Join Save the Internet.com and read the information there. Watch this video and learn:

[wp_youtube]cWt0XUocViE[/wp_youtube]

Another great site is Democratic Media.org. Navigate to ‘issues’ and read. It presents a fantastic overview of things we need to know about digital media. As bloggers, it’s our responsibility to become aware of this information so we can help preserve our rights.

My good friend Aaron Cook let me know he had written a post about this back in 2006. His post is entitled Network Neutrality – Keep the Internet Free!!! I read it and it’s a great post with many additional links. Though Net Neutrality is not a current hot topic, it is far from over. Big corporations will fight to own the web! Imagine the profits they would make by owning the most lucrative business on Earth.

I am learning more and more about what I can personally do to help. A world with a privatized, corporate owned Internet would be a world without all of us together. Like I have said many times in past posts:

Blogging is doing more for world peace than any other single factor in the history of humankind. Let’s keep it that way.”

The Disease of Self-centeredness

First, I want to say happy Martin Luther King day. What he fought and died for is and will always be one of the most important issues facing the whole of humanity. It is powerfully disturbing that we have become something even worse than racists; we have become a world of self-centered, narcissistic and self-righteous peoples.I recently finished reading my 8th book about the ‘Law of Attraction’. I have read nearly every major religious work and even a few books about ‘Scientology’. I forewarn everyone, you may be highly offended at what I’m going to say.

I am neither a leader or a follower, I am an individual. I am a seeker of truths and strive to understand truth with open mindedness and clarity. The reason I read so many books about the law of attraction is that I kept trying to learn something new, something I didn’t realize on my own, back in my early teen years. I never found it!

I thought everyone already knew the general ideas in this type of subject just by virtue of being an intelligent human being. If the law of attraction helps you, and you believe in it, then it is good (but what is ‘good’). However, anything you believe that helps you is good – whether it’s a religion, a cult, a self-help book, a philosophical revelation or a visit to the psychiatrist.

I will point out, that simply being educated about all these things and believing in yourself, beyond any teachings is the same thing…generally speaking. Because of the shallow way this world has evolved, both spiritually and intellectually, people are likely to follow something; they are looking for truth. They want to be shown truth, not discover it within themselves.

That truth is not in any book or video or seminar; it is within your own mind and fueled by your own desire to understand it. Some folks may say, “Yes, exactly…that defines the law of attraction!”

Hahahaha…no it doesn’t! If it did, it wouldn’t be called that…it would simply be called truth! Truth is not a marketing tool to sell books. Quite simply, the law of attraction is a marketing tool which is popular simply because it reflects humankind’s need to seek what what it believes it needs in the present time. It is a sign of the times.

People want to gain wealth and have a good life for themselves and their children. This is because that “good life” is for the privileged few and most of us do not have it. We are so animal like, so filled with greed and envy. It’s both our own faults along with the governments and those who have wealth.

If you are wishing, praying or visualizing yourself gaining wealth, you should be ashamed! Wish and visualize helping humanity, not lining your wallets. I’m sorry, but “praying” for material objects helps fester and perpetuate all that is wrong with the world. What’s sad is that people are getting rich writing books and selling people these ideas…WAKE UP!!!!!

If I said that a family’s inheritance to their children should be illegal, what would you think? No matter what you think, it is a fact that by having legalized inheritances absolutely causes a lopsided division of wealth over a period of time in any form of government. Surely if a parent has saved $150,000.00, they want their children to have it.

If you have 20 newborn babies, are they equal? In most cases, yes – but not in wealth. If one child’s parents have 50 million dollars, then that child will live a privileged life. The other children will have to fight for themselves. Thus, survival of the fittest doesn’t apply! It becomes survival of the wealthiest and greediest!

On the flip side, if the government took 75% of all inheritances, corruption behind closed doors would occur! Look at the forms of government in today’s world. A communistic government will always develop inner corruption and will rot from the inside out. A society based on money like in the US, the wealth becomes one sided forming a massive poor and middle class where people barely get by.

It is inevitable that the US government will not last forever, but I am not afraid. So what would work best? How can humanity solve these problems? I believe the answer cannot be achieved through government.

Right now, Americans are giving up liberty for protection by the government. What are we afraid of? I say there is nothing to fear, not even death. We are not fighting for liberty, we are fighting for greed and wealth!

“Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both.”

Benjamin Franklin

Can you see the problem? Have you learned something? War and violence is not the solution; they are the traits of nescience and cowardice. The answers are in heart of individuals – each and every one of us.

Should individuals legally be able to keep billions of dollars just for themselves? Therein lies the problem! This is the wrong question. I say, sure, an individual has every right to keep billions – I ask that individual, “Why would you want to?”

This is my personal hypothesis. A person should not want to keep this only for themselves, leaving it only for their children. Under an absolutely transparent democracy, free from greed – we can find the truth. I’m not talking about some ridiculous utopia, I’m talking about humankind finding peace and honesty within themselves – on an individual basis.

Unfortunately, this is a paradox. Within the fabric of everything humankind does, lie the seeds of destruction. Therefore, the real answers are inside our hearts, purely and simply. This is why I choose to be my own person and follow no books or doctrines. I do believe in God, but even more than that – I believe in myself.

Peace and love to everyone on Earth

Bobby’s Batch #3 – Bright As The Sun

From betwixt the sagging folds of drabness, the nebulous silence and the ineffable vastness of the void – shined a brilliant light of hope…super cool posts from around the blogosphere! I frenetically indagated with a ferocious incitation to uncover these; let us celebrate these condign works. As always, I present a wide variety talented bloggers (in no particular order).

bright-as-the-sun.jpg

1. One of the first friends I made in the blogosphere is Wonder Woman! I was a brand spanking new, green pea blogger without a clue as to what I was doing…hehe and she came along and handed me a flashlight!!! She hasn’t been blogging actively in a while but out of the blue, wrote some new posts! Her post Have you seen Max? is hiarious…loaded with bizarre, twisted humor!

2. My new friend Square1 from The Fanciful Muse, wrote a fantastic post 13 Thoughts That Have Been Occupying the Space Between My Ears (does she ever write a post that isn’t fantastic?)

3. My good friend Karen from Water Learner wrote another wonderful post, Accidental Murder. This post shows what a kind heart she has and you should all read it! Karen’s work always has a strong sense of spiritual integrity, which I admire very much!.

4. Sometimes You Have to Lose Yourself – from Morgan is a great philosophically insightful post (as most all of her posts are!!!). Morgan is an extremely expressive writer who deserves much attention.

5. Rolando has a new blog My Hush Space (go Rolando!!!) Already he has several great posts so go check ‘em out. I had trouble picking which one I would add to this week’s batch, so I chose the one I felt had the most important message. Go read Happy Birthday MLK! This should be read by everyone.

6. Diane from 134u.com wrote a post Free advertising with Entrecard. Though I’ve seen several posts about entrecard, this one is the most well written and complete. Diane has a great blog, so be sure to check some of her posts out!

7. Simonne from All Tips and Tricks wrote a fantastically original post entitled, Online, Offline, What Difference Does It Make For The Bear? A great post from a great blogger! As with all these blogs…read more than just one post and say hello!

8. The Brown Baron wrote Rumor: Windows 7 Scheduled For 2009? If you’re like me, then you are probably glad you didn’t partake in the Windows Vista force-feeding “dished out” by Microsoft. Yes Vista, complete with a hole filled, untested virgin network stack…hahaha. Let’s hope that Windows 7 is done right…go read!

9. Paisley from Why Paisley wrote Carnage Carnivale; although this is an older post, it’s very disturbing and impeccably written, a rare combination! I love horror (especially when it’s great like this).

10. Mark from MeAndMyDrum wrote a great post, Wendy’s Doesn’t Know What I Deserve. Haha…you have to read this. It’s disturbing, insightful and somehow…funny!!!

11. I ran across a blog I hadn’t seen before, Sara East.com who wrote Isn’t it Time We End Being So Materialistic? The post title caught my attention in my blogrush widget (I find it a great way to find new bloggers, even after I initially tossed it). When someone points out why materialism is out of hand, it is a great thing! I enjoyed the post very much!

There are so many great blogs out there, I feel guilty I cannot include more. Don’t worry, there are 52 weeks in a year and I’ll be looking everywhere!
