If I wrote a post entitled “Delectable Discoveries from The Unsung Heroes of Restaurants” and listed the following, what would be your reaction? Are these blogosphere gems?
The Quarter Pounder from McDonalds – I discovered this hunting for rare treats yesterday! It features a chopped, whipped and blended, machine strewn and digitally fabricated meat pattie on preservative loaded, factory made bun!
The 10 piece bucket from Kentucky Fried Chicken…AND SO ON!!!!!! (if I want to read about chicken, I’ll go to Speedy’s blog…hehe:)
This is the equivalent of linking to posts from the richest, money making blogs. Do you see my point? Everyone already knows about those blogs. It takes a lot more work to find cool articles on lesser known blogs! Support the little guys and gals…for they are the MAJORITY among bloggers. It bothers me to see bloggers linking to these bigger blogs, it makes no sense (even though I’ve done it…just something to think about).
This week, just for fun, I cover a spectrum of unique articles…all categorized in a conglobation of uniqueness!
Political Interests
Beaman wrote a post that grabbed my attention Pick Your 2008 Candidate Quiz. Beaman doesn’t even live in America but took time to decide who he would vote for if he did live here. Let this be an example for all Americans. Americans often don’t vote. They find the Britney Spears saga more important! What’s even more scary, is they vote blindly when they do, knowing nothing about the candidates and usually vote based on political party.
Euroyank has another thought inciting post A Journey Through The Graveyard of American Dreams. Euroyank doesn’t live here in America either (but used to). It’s amazing how people from other countries are more knowledgeable of America than Americans are.
Film
Mike from Things By Mike finally got his high def video camera! He filmed his first short film. Read Playing with the new camera – our first short film. He also filmed Take a tour of my town! I can’t wait to see how his projects develop. Good luck Mike!
Blogging
Here’s a great post from Sueblimely (really great!) Accessibility and Blogs – A Win Win Situation. Sue put some real work into this and is a must read for any blogger. Go read this post right now!
If you are looking for a different way to make money on your blog without having to be a marketing genius, check out Aaron Cook’s Make Money With Voxant News Feeds. As usual, when Aaron writes a post like this, he goes into great detail – leaving no stone unturned. It covers EVERYTHING you need to know to get this going in no time! It’s not a get rich quick scheme, but is doable, especially if you stick with it over time!
Though this isn’t a new post, it’s so good…it’s a must read for any blogger. It’s the Brown Baron’s Children Hold The Key To Blogging. Some great advice and insight about the art of blogging!
I wrote a post which I felt had an extremely important message How To Provide Traffic For Others. I don’t promote myself very much, but I believe strongly in what I wrote and think it has validity!
Tech
Andy from FiddyP has written a 5 part tutorial about Ajax in which he put a tremendous amount of work Beginners AJAX. Tutorial series. Part 1 . This is a link to part one. For those tech and coding feaks who are interested in learning Ajax, this is a must read!
Awards
Shinade gave me an this award from her post Awards,Awards and More Awards:
She also gave me 3 others! Thanks Jackie! I am showing this one as it’s my favourite of the four. I am giving it to everyone listed in this post.
Philosophy
Amber from Random Magus wrote a philosophical article asking some important questions Ode To Belief. Amber is a very open minded person who explores and ponders, always providing a good read!
Comedy
Eric Speedcat Hollydale is definitely a blog comic (as usual) but has hit it big! The Golden Globe Awards have been relocated to his blog, check it out!
Speedcat’s 65th Annual Golden Globe Awards Show Replacement Blog!
Cuteness
Janice took Amos & Zac to to the Singapore Science Centre! Check out how cute Amos and Zac look!

Bobby thanks for the mention. I guess after living in the USA for about fifty (50) years, and then moving to Europe, a few things do rub off. Love your blog and thanks again for the mention!

Your approach to linking is not so widespread. I agree it is harder to find good links on not so famous blogs, but it is worth doing it. Every time I’m doing that, I end up with a few discoveries, great blogs to subscribe to.

What is big, anyway? Something that takes over your sight, or something that takes over your mind? Size does matter, but each of us has a personal definition of size.

I have the feeling that this post is pointing to mine, Blogs about blogging I like most
I just want to tell you my point of view: I’ve started my blog without knowing anything about blogging. So, normally, I wanted to learn as much as possible about blogging: how to write a good post, how to drive traffic to my post, how I can monetize it and so on. I found a lot of answers in the big and popular blogs and for a long time I was stuck on these blogs. That?s why I mentioned them. And I think it wasn’t so bad, because the new bloggers who read my blog can also learn a lot of stuff from these blogs. Not to mention that there was readers who didn’t heard about some of the blogs I’ve mentioned.
Of course that for someone who blogs for a long while, the big blogs are very well know, and he is bored when he finds on new blogs links to them. When I’ll become an experimented blogger, which will be happen these days
, I’ll look forward for little and new blogs to promote them.
If you like some new and little blogs why don’t you share with us in the post I mentioned above? I have to thank you for leaving 2 comments, but I want to know what blogs do you like most? Make them some free advertising, you can leave links to them, too. I promise I’ll check them (as I do with blogs mentioned by you in this post) and if I like their posts, I’ll link to them.
PS. This is the longest comment I leave on a blog

You are quite right Bobby and I am guilty of this, partly because I blog about particular topics and for research tend to go places I know or those that appear towards the top of search engine listings – its a time constraint problem partly. I do always make an effort to include newer, less known blogs in things like memes though and read other blogs for leisure, leaving comments of encouragement where needed. I also make sure I add these to my feed subscriptions etc to give them a helping hand.

I meant about the collective links to other bloggers! And “My Name Is In The Rain” is soooooo not my last post, but it is one of my favorite Spin-A-Yarn’s. I wonder how this thing configures that.

Thanks a ton for the link love, my friend! You’ve got some really awesome folks mentioned in there. Looks like I’ll be busy reading!
And thanks a bunch for the Stumble, too!
My apologies for getting here a couple of days late…things have been hectic here lately and I haven’t been able to visit peoples’ blogs (or even attend to mine) as much as I’d like to.
Nonetheless, I am very much appreciate your taking the time to mention me.
Shine on,

Hi Simonne! Look for instance, at John Chow…a useless blog, poorly written and offers nothing but ramblings from a guy who brags! You will NEVER see me link to a famous blog. Once you’ve read 20 posts from ProBlogger…there’s no need to ever look at it again

Hahaha…good point! Most people flock to where most others go, and so on. I really don’t have anything against most of the big blogs, but they don’t link to us! Some people, who can barely afford to eat…get upset when sport stars don’t get that extra 10 million…hehe! Thanks Simonne

It’s my belief that we lesser know bloggers should support one another more. This blog is built on that principle. I am for the people..hehe, like with my political views, I think the masses are seen as unimportant – yet to the ones on top, are THE MOST IMPORTANT!

Hi Diane! All the blogs I linked to in my post are little and most are under a year old. My blog will be 1 year old in February. This post isn’t meant just for you, it is a message for everyone. Do not feel like I’m coming down on you in any way. You’re learning and your blog is great! Read and learn as much as you can from everywhere.
My favourite blogs are all blogs in which I am really good friends with the author. By big blog..I’m referring to those listed in MyBlogLog’s top 50 communities for example. I am friends with Maki from Dosh Dosh and Ilker from the thinking blog. I once wanted to be like problogger, but to be like him…my blog would need to be extremely niche oriented and ran like a business not as a friend to people.
I try to help people in the blogosphere because I like them, not to make money. My blog is really just a personal blog. You do what you want in blogging and never let anything I or anyone says to sway you from your goals! Think about this…if 25,000 people are listening to one guy’s advice, how many will succeed? I don’t follow the crowd, and neither should you! that’s really the meaning of my post.
You have a lot of leadership qualities prevalent in the way you write…the only person you need to follow is yourself! You have a reader in me, and I think you’re doing a great job

I for one, am tired of seeing great posts going unnoticed…it’s a HUGE problem in the blogosphere. People spend their time linking to the most well known bloggers or they corner themselves into little cliques, ignoring the rest. You are more than welcome Aaron, it really is a great post
