What is wrong with the world? What is wrong in the blogosphere? The purest explanation is the imperious impudicity and inanity most of us express and exhibit through our actions. If someone writes something of actual value, with true meaning and depth; it will remain ignored.

With so many greed driven bloggers hell bent on keyword targeting and such, bloggers with important ideas are buried in the rubble. This is the same reason American Idol is more important than people dying in wars. This is why humankind is at it most disappointing stage in history. Do you think I’m being negative or overreacting?

mr-mad-cat.jpg

Loki “Mr. Mad Cat” says he’s with me on this!

People want compliments and pats on the back. You’re wonderful…NO…you’re twice as wonderful as I am….NO, NO, NO….you’re three times as wonderful as me…isn’t it wonderful? Hahahahaha

I don’t need someone patting me on the back, there are much more important issues at hand in this world. What could be more important than Britney Spears and who has the hottest, red carpet body? Most people think, “But I don’t like politics…and I cannot miss what Simon Cowell says next! The news is so depressing…I must have fun all day!”

Don’t you understand that this is why the world is at risk for total destruction? Does the thought of billions of people burning to death in a nuclear inferno bother you? What are YOU going to do about it? Many of you are thinking, “Shut up! I’m trying to giggle and squirm in a frenzy of fun!”

People seem to only care about superficial ideals. Am I alone in feeling this way? When I look at the most popular blogs on the web, hardly any of them have substance. They are all about how to make money and how to teach others to do the same.

I’m sorry, but making money is the least important subject on Earth. What is important is stopping all these wars, and educating children…giving medical care to people who cannot afford it and feeding children who are starving to death…but we watch American Idol instead, living in apathetic decadence.

What am I doing about it? I study every political figure in local, state and national governments and am DOING MY PART BY VOTING FOR THE PEOPLE I BELIEVE WILL HELP PROLIFERATE REAL CHANGES IN THIS WORLD. All the problems in America are caused by lazy, carefree citizens. Most people who do vote know nothing about why or who they are voting for…how scary.

I am neither democrat or republican; I vote for who I agree with. Socialized health care and anti war policies are at the core of my beliefs. Instead of killing people all over the world, America should be giving us health care. Big corporations are killing the American dream along with the dreams of people all over the world.

I am not writing my weekly “Bobby’s Batch” post until tomorrow. Right this moment, I am embarrassed to be an American. I am ashamed of what this country has done and the shallow ideals we spread across this world.

The beautiful and majestic “Mr. Mad Cat” was photographed by Ian Benninghaus from the web site In Focus Imagery (the site is currently under construction but be sure to check out his incredible photography by clicking his name above). The cat’s name is Loki. The photographer says this about his cat, “The toughest beast in all the Nor’ east.
Mr. Personality, the most photogenic cat in all the land.”

Loki captured my mood perfectly for this post.

Loki looks deep in thought, and just like my cat Spike except for the ears.
Bobby, I don’t watch much TV, but I read about it on blogs (that’s ok).
I am with you on health care. I am generally a free market minded person, but it is definately out of control. The cost of a perscription is 5000% greater than the cost of production …. why? Paid polititions, paid doctors, paid commercials, paid lobbyists, all costing average joe more than he can afford. This is just the tip of the iceburg.
Cat’s are sure furry animals, no?

With the staggering amount of money we spend on conquering the world, we need more than a wake up call. What’s going to happen is another terrorist attack…and then we’ll be spending EVEN MORE money on the military and starting new wars.

I can’t afford health care…it’s out of the question (and I make pretty good money). This country is in a real mess.

Yeah…I love cats..especially fuzzy ones

Bobby,I agree with you on some of your thoughts but I have to disagree with some others…. I think the problem for loads of people is they spend TOO much time in reality and it stinks… I read, I understand, I try and help but when I Blog, I Blog for me. It doesn’t mean I don’t think theres a market for important bloggers, I just think to each his own. Personally, I don’t think it will matter what we think or do soon, I believe in God’s promise….
Peace Dude, I think you’re a great guy but I also think maybe you need to relax too…
I hope you don’t get to pissed at me but I am sad you’re ashamed of being American, I think you should be more ashamed at our government….. There’s always moving too (I’ve thought of that myself)…. *sigh, my heart is saddened at this*
Hugs~

Hi Judy! It’s not our governments fault…it’s our fault for putting the wrong people in charge. We cannot blame our our government when it’s us that placed the decision makers in office. Did you know that less than 20% of all Americans actually vote?

I believe in God’s promise too…the promise that God only helps them who help themselves. If we don’t do something to change things…God will not help us.

God bless you Judy

Odd that I should drop by today. I was just sitting here and pondering the fact that I haven’t actually written a good solid post in well over a week.

I have been wracking my brain trying to focus on a subject that I wish to speak about. But, there are so many that are running through my brain I simply can’t pin point one yet.

I hope by later this evening the swirling thoughts will settle and I can do a serious and valid post.

You are right about the fluff issue. It is true that the most popular blogs, and television shows are the light-hearted ones that truly don’t contain any substance at all. But, I remember reading how in the past during extremely hard times these things soared in popularity as well.

The fact is many people simply do not want to deal with the real and very dangerous, frightening things currently happening. So they use the fluff to escape reality.

If I write a post where I speak out about serious issues I am almost garunteed not to get any comments. But, that is not why I haven’t written anything in depth for lately….right now the truth is I am exhausted. But, just let me post a joke or something that has no real substance at all and the comments come in.

I am not ashamed to be an American. As a matter of fact I am proud to be an American. What I am ashamed of is the 80% of our American population that are not participating in helping this country rise back up out of the mire that we are currently stuck in.

I hang on by always remembering a very simple thing I learned in Politics 101. And, that is that the pendulum always swings back. Right now it is stuck in an extremeist right wing position. But, history has proven as well as simple physics that pendulums do swing back. I am hoping and praying that soon we will see this swing and become the country that we are supposed to be.

Great post Bobby.

Hi Jackie! I don’t expect any blogger to write important articles with substance. I do however expect any blogger who is extremely popular to be responsible in their position of power. When the people on top are setting the worst examples…both in government and in blogging, it is sad.

I learn from you! You are right…I too am proud of being an American, but I am disappointed in our citizens. I spent several hours yesterday listening to 23 people arguing about why this country is messed up. I was shocked to find out NONE of them are registered to vote! This is common. If we don’t vote, then we have no right to complain or even voice an opinion!

I’ll be voting for a democrat since all of the republicans are against socialized health care. I used to be a very conservative, right wing republican…but I have changed my position. Have a great week Jackie!

Ahh yes, these are exactly the reasons I am thoroughly disgusted with politics. The apathy of the average American Citizen is a tragedy. That is why I read blogs like this one,
this one, and a few others, because where I would rather choose to ignore politics all together, I know that I can’t. How can I criticize others for their apathy, when I would choose ignorance out of disgust if I could.

A very good post, Bobby. I hope to see more on the subject.

The thing that really torments me, is that when what I write something like this…it makes some folks mad…and they think I am criticizing the lack of substance in their blogs, but I am not!

All I’m hoping to do is simply inspire people to learn about the government and who is running it. It should be a law that we vote (hahaha…now that’s a radical idea). This country is a democracy. It is our responsibility to choose the right people in office.

I’ll definitely check out the links you provided. Thanks Square1

No problem, and you will have to do a little digging on Smiler’s blog, because she’s been feeling out of sorts lately, but she definitely has posts that call attention to things we need to be paying attention to.

The same with TIV, but you won’t have to dig as much. Just three or four posts down I believe. I commented on TIV’s blog that I wonder what would happen if the entire country boycotted the vote, as a protest that we don’t find any of the candidates acceptable for leadership. I doubt we could ever pull it off, but I still wonder what would happen.

Here it is! how unusual! Yes…we have the power to do something like that…but we are too apathetic to take control of our power!

Hey Bobby,

The way I see it, is that each blogger has their own style that adds something to the blogoshpere. Someone blogs about cancer, someone blogs about celebrities, someone blogs about shoes, and on and on. All of these things can be of importance to readers.

Someone who is sick and needs to laugh can benefit from a really stupid blog post, laughing is important too. Not everyone is in the mental position to make a huge difference because they are just trying to get through their own daily struggles.

What I’m saying is that not everyone is meant to blog about serious issues. Maybe that’s your specific gift to the blogoshpere, to shake things up and wake people up.

Instead of taking the angle of scolding bloggers because they’re not taking world issues seriously, I think you might want to consider making your posts about the subjects (issues) that you are passionate about and then tell us what we can do to help. Add a donation button etc. I believe many people do care and want to help but don’t know how or where to start.

Just my opinion, but I think this is the way that you could make a difference. You have the ability to get people’s attention, you can use that gift to change the world.

Love you Bobby, hugs:)

Thank you Christy, you are right. I think you know how tormented I am. When I look at the world, I cannot help but see the truth. This country of America, where I was born represents pure vanity. To think that Paris Hilton’s quote “That’s hot” - represents our nation, breaks my heart…but it does in many ways define America.

Each of us blogs about what we want and I don’t believe any of us should feel like we have to write about “important issues”. I don’t like writing endlessly about these things either.

History repeats itself. I feel like one of the many unheard voices in the ancient city of Rome, giving prophetic doomsday speeches about it’s demise. if only I didn’t know the truth. I will try to enjoy the freedom I have right now and scold less.

Your comment helped me very much. I will try some different approaches…let me write some fiction…hahaha!

Thank you so much!!!!!!!! Here’s love and hugs for you

Bobby, I have thought about some of the things I said, I wasn’t angry, just saddened that you said you were ashamed of being American at the moment.
I agree fully with you on the issues of voting, its our right as an American and our duty as a free citizen of these United States to stay informed and use ALL of our privileges. The one thing I really sort of took offense to was the thing about serious blogs and the way they are ignored. You said “If someone writes something of actual value, with true meaning and depth; it will remain ignored.”/ ( I hope I did that right) I just don’t think that’s true, Your very own Blog holds that remark not quite on point. You have a vast amount of readers, one’s that truly care about you and your Blog. I saw that by the countless numbers of people that begged you to come back to Blogging when you were gone, you don’t really think they just wanted you alone to be here do you? Don’t you think they enjoy reading your Blog posts, whether they are serious posts or posts for fun, they emit you and your passion for Blogging and life. I admit that some of the more serious posts I have wrote, don’t get hit much, and I even concede that the one post of mine that got the most comments was labeled “Food Porn” I still think that my readers love to have my Blog[s] and ME around. I just started a blog that is on a very serious topic, Child Molestation and the hellish life I endured as a child, even if no one ever posts on that blog I KNOW that it is worthy of writing and worthy of reading, I don’t care if others never say attah girl, ever, period.
I enjoy you and I think you’re one helluva guy…. Do what you do best, inspire people to be real, to think, to vote, to be…..
Hugs and so much love for my fellow Blogger, Judy

It happened during Moses, before, after, and again and again. The description - humanity engrossed in a forgetfulness of our purpose here. Yet, I see this as an opportunity for one to do the work in the re-emphasis of the wake up call. It’s a choice, potentially a commitment, to those who have awakened.
