I’m dedicating this post to my friend Euroyank’s Battle of the Blogs Debates. I didn’t follow the rules exactly, but as an oppressed American, I have an aversion to rules. Check out his post, it is brilliant!
By using credit cards, you are personally destroying your own life. Most of the economic problems in the world are your fault, not the fault of the world banks and our leaders. I read a fantastic article from a blogger I happened upon today, Steve Karmazenuk, who wrote The Perverse Society: The Illusion of Freedom in the Market Economy. This guy has the right idea! He basically says to cut up your credit cards and not pay the bills at all. Good credit is irrelevant. Find three people to do the same and so on…haha! Too bad we don’t all have the guts to do that. Be sure to read his post.
These things are on my mind a lot these days because it’s getting so difficult to afford necessities, and be able to drive to work. I personally don’t use credit cards and only buy in cash – if I can’t buy it outright, I do without. In America, if you buy a house, chances are you will lose it and your credit will be destroyed. The banks and governments are enslaving us, keeping us all in eternal debt. Most people never pay their credit card bills on time, and end up never actually owning anything. They are basically renting their entire lives, making banks richer. Who’s fault is it? It’s our own fault.
Putting a cap on credit card and loan interest
This is a great idea! I don’t know if I’m the only one who has ever thought about it, but I haven’t read about it in the media – not once. This should be one subject on the front page of every newspaper, but it’s something completely ignored. Have you wondered why their is no cap on the amount of profit credit card companies can make off of you? Theoretically, you could end up paying $100,000.00 for a $5,000.00 car! Why aren’t our politicians talking about that? Instead of capping profits, they incur more fees and lower your credit rating every time you get behind, making life harder and harder. It’s called slavery.
People are worried about identity theft, and are paying for protection from high cost services like LifeLock. This sounds exactly like a mafia protection racket! The federal reserve is the world’s greatest loan shark and our leaders are a bunch of greed infested scumbags who deserve a prison cell (or a rat infested dungeon).
The greatest protection against identity theft is to have bad credit – no one would want to steal your identity then! I guess I am pretty safe
Then we have the big oil companies making record profits while we can barely afford to drive to work so we can make more money, so we can buy more gas at higher prices, so we can get to work to make more money, so we can by more gas…until we eventually die – what a great life. If you don’t have these problems, then you are in a very small minority. Oil companies should not even exist. There should be only one oil company and it should be owned by who? Us!!!!! It should be a corporation evenly owned by everyone – by law.
We need radical solutions not band-aids. It’s time for a worldwide revolution – an economic evolution. I wish Americans had been smarter and voted for Ron Paul, but they didn’t. Instead, they picked 3 yes-men (yes I do consider Hillary to be a male) who will not solve a single problem. I’ve been listening to political pundits on the news all week talking about how oil companies have the right to make a profit…hahaha! What? They only make around 7% profit, and most of that is invested in the stock market to make them even more profit. They make it sound like these billionaires are suffering.
Terrorism
Terrorism has been blown way out of proportion. I am completely unconcerned about it. I’m concerned about the corrupted filth behind the world banks. One or two more terror attacks, and America will be a totalitarian police state. As soon as it happens, I’ll know who did it: our own government.
People actually believe that 9-11 was not an inside job. The media will not even consider the idea! Wake up and smell the bullshit, our government is responsible. When we get hit by another attack, I will still be unafraid of terrorism. If you don’t believe it was an inside job, then you just don’t know the facts.
Socialism
Socialism is considered a bad word. As soon as it’s mentioned, it’s followed by the phrase “socialistic utopia” that will destroy our country. I don’t want a socialist government, but some aspects of socialism would be good for America and nearly every country. Right now, if I get cancer…I will die without treatment. I cannot afford health care. I am scared to live here. To think that people are actually behind John McCain for president frightens me even more. The entire country should stop working right this minute and go sit on the white house lawn. Imagine 300 million people demanding a new government, right this second. What would happen? I think they would drop bombs on us and roast marshmallows on our burning bodies – with evil smiles on their faces.
To sum up here’s what needs to be done:
- Abolish the federal reserve
- Abolish federal income tax
- Cap all credit card and loan interest
- Give everyone a clean slate, removing all bad credit ratings
- Give everyone healthcare
Which presidential candidate will do this? Not one. I hope Ron Paul lives long enough to get elected. I know these are radical ideas but they must be accomplished. I have nothing else to say about this subject. I am over politics. My next post will be about something much different. I really appreciate the people who have commented on my past few serious posts because I didn’t think I would get any comments at all. Thank you very much. I know many of my readers don’t comment on these types of posts, but I do understand. This information is important to me and it really should be important to everyone. Maybe I’ll write an extremely twisted horror story or do a meme…hahaha! ![]()

Socialism is not a bad word- stupid people equate socialism with welfare mommies who will not work or will not use their time on welfare to get an education, or people faking disabilities to get a social security check, and other fraudulent activities that our Government allows. They allow it because it is no skin of their teeth- if they make tax payers foot the bill for criminals on welfare and social security.
There are plenty of people that do need a small boost of welfare short term, or help getting a college education, affordable health care for all- and freedom from predatory insurers and creditors. Only our government and our way of life thrives on these practices that keep hard working citizens in the gutter. Socialism smacks of social responsibility and that is subversive to the American mindset- because here it is applauded to be every man for himself- and it’s “Baby I’m gonna get mine, even if I have to run your bleep over to get it!”
Before my father died I found out that he was part of the Young Socialist Party. I had always wondered why I leaned towards socialism… now I know.

I totally agree about the cap on credit cards and that oil companies should be owned by us. Makes a lot of sense. I’m not sure why you believe 9-11 was an inside job. I’m not saying it wasn’t, but just that you didn’t back up your thoughts here. So I guess I’m playing Devil’s Blogvocate on that one. I am of the thought that things can’t continue in this country the way they have been. I mean, it doesn’t make sense for us to drive to work just to make enough money to pay for the gas to drive to work, and they can only get money out of us for so long before we run dry. And there are a lot more of us than there are of “them.”

Great post Bobby! Thanks for keeping this issue in the forefront. There is a controversial solution to these problems; but, it will take re-packaging and a very clever PR campaign to win people over to it. The theory is based in Sharia Law and is winning many converts, there is an introduction to this, and links, on my post “The Third Solution” which you may find interesting. Cheers!

Bobby I am ashamed of myself…I keep getting in trouble…I have no control and am a shopoholic…I have done it again and need hubby to bail me out…what a disgrace..and it’s not even so much about money anymore…it’s about buying, buying I should be ashamed of myself and yes I am…But they keep sendingf the darn things…Don’t they know? There should be a picture of me in every bank saying DO NOT EXTEND CREDIT TO THIS NUTCASE!!! But of course, they won’t, Hubby pays in full whenever I cry uncle…
I do though, believe that there is a movement to have only two groups..the rich and everyone else….it’s so not fair

Bobby,
Great post. Ha ha! I guess I’m pretty safe against identity theft too!
I read an interesting article that says that it’s a myth that the average American has a lot of credit card debt.
It says most Americans have a $0 balance on their credit cards and of those that do have a balance, most owe $2000 or less. But of course, there are still millions of Americans mercilessly in credit card debt. I agree with your idea to cap credit card profit. I also think credit of all types needs to be much harder to get. We have banks foreclosing on miilions of homes, when the homeowners should NOT have been qualified for the loan in the first place. I actually had my home foreclosed on 2 years ago because my (now ex) husband became addicted to pain pills and lost his job. It was not fun.
I’m also with you in agreeing I’m not worried about terrorism. We have lost so many (albeit some of them small) of our freedoms (because of wiretapping, etc) since 9/11. I’m more worried about that! The last time I flew, I was patted down and all of my bags thoroughly searched, because I guess I have that suicide bomber look (lol). I don’t feel any safer flying with all of the safety measures they have instituted. I have heard people who claim that 9/11 was an inside job, but I’ve never heard why they believe that. If you were ever interested in writing on that topic, I think it would make an interesting post.

That interest rate/ debt subject is right at the heart of the Sharia theory, no usury, no interest on loans…it used to be part of the Christian/Catholic philosophy too; but, took a back seat to the Calvinist theories. No interest loans might be appealing no matter what your religious beliefs!

Bobby, I know all your American readers will be ticked off at the low credit rates in Europe …
Credit card interchange fees in the United States, ultimately paid by American consumers, are currently more than twice as much on average as they are in Europe — the same credit card interchange fees just ruled too high by EU Commissioner Kroes. U.S. interchange fees on average are about 2 percent, while Visa Europe rates, for example, are capped at 0.7 percent.

Bobby, we have the same American movies over here, widescreen TV’s, etc that you have there. The difference is we can afford to buy the dvd’s, because instead of a 20% credit card here, the rates are unbelievable low and capped!
Those that do not wish to buy movie dvds, have to watch television and the commercials. European media is totally dominated by American movies, and American music.
All the top American movie stars come over here on a weekly basis. Some like Madonna decide to live here or have dual residences.
Lately, the German government for example tried to pass a law that at least 40% of all German radio stations play German music, because German radio also is completely American dominated.
Its kind of funny to watch John Wayne, or Frank Sinatra, or Star Trek, or all the others speak another language.
Strangely, the Europeans are not at all paranoid about their culture, their music, and their media being American dominated. Why are Americans paranoid about anything foreign?

Hopefully anyone from the US govt is reading this. Or it could be Paul?

I agree that credit card interest is to high. When Alexander Hamilton envisioned the Banking system he proposed a symbiotic relationship with the banks where credit would be extend to people with a low interest and that would stimulate business. At that time credit cards were not used. California has a usury law of 10% but that is preempted by federal law. Federal Preemption has been a sword to the consumer not a shield. We are serviceing debt and not purchasing product and thats bad. If credit cards were limited to 12% we could pay off our debt faster and by products which provides jobs and fresh income and the cycle replenishes our lives and quality of life. The lenders are greedy. They caused the housing meltdown we are now in. They blinded themselve to the risk by using stated income products with adjustable rate mortgages and negative amortization. They caused values to plummet by their massive foreclosures which affected the surrounding properties to the point were the surrounding properties could not refinance. They should be held liable.

congratulations, it seems that the feds have heard about your idea and finally looking into putting a cap on credit card interest rates… and bad news for credit card companies, the practice of jacking up interest rates would soon be illegal!

Hi Teeni! It would take a 30 page post to explain why I think 9-11 was an inside job. I don’t believe it was, I know for a fact it was. You need to spend two hours and watch the film Zeitgeist which I linked to in my latest Bobby’s Batch. It’s free to watch. The film’s creator put all the information together and did a spectacular job. Please watch it and then you will understand why I am so convinced. It wasn’t the film that convinced me – I knew before I saw it; however, the guy who made it did all that for me.
Thanks so much Teeni

Hi Michelle! We are told this is the country of dreams, but the reality is, it is only for a few people. You can only be really successful and rich if you choose a career that pays big, and even then, you may still end up poor. If you choose to be a school teacher, you will be a struggling middle class worker and the American dream is just a pipe dream.
I don’t want to live in a “nanny state”, but I also don’t want to stay poor while a few people on top have 99% of all the money. No matter what system we have, there will always be bottom feeders. Most of us don’t want to be bottom feeders, but we do need some help…especially right now

Bobby, thanks for the mention. In the USA its corporations that get all the welfare. American capitalism is a buzz word for the reality of Corporate Welfare …
Government intervention has always played a central role in the modern capitalist system. (think of it as socialism for the rich, & dog eat dog economics for the rest of us.)
Government subsidies for private corporations are disguised under the Pentagon System or DEFENSE which takes half of every tax dollar.
Other examples of industries which rely upon public subsidies are the biotechnology, pharmaceutical industries, & agribusiness. In other words, a complex system of tax laws, government manipulation of public money, regulations and other magic tricks insure that certain businesses will thrive regardless of whether the free market will support them or not.
You may be thinking, Well, at least my taxes are going to help catch terrorists ($200 billion worth), right? Wrong. the $100 billion extra we scrimped from other programs to hand the military?
Most goes to contractors who sell the U.S. overpriced and sometimes obsolete weapons systems. So the military budget (before the extras, $393 billion in 2003) that we authorize so that well be protected is really being used to pad contractors pockets and secure oil in the Middle East. And its not the people driving gas-guzzling hummers who pay for this. Instead of being sanctioned for increasing our dependency on oil, they enjoy a $25,000 tax break.
And this is recommended reading for everyone …
CORPORATE WELFARE THE FACE, THE CASE, THE REMEDY
and …
Corporate Welfare

I must admit I like that analogy: socialism for the rich and dog eat dog for the rest. That is true. I may be thinking my taxes are being used to help catch terrorists? Hahahaha! You may have confused me with someone who pays federal taxes
I believe in working off the books and not reporting more than 10% of the tips I make. Am I a piece of garbage for doing that? Absolutely not…I am being smart! I hereby cut off my government and do not allow them to steal my money. I give them crumbs. If everyone did that, it would force a change. I would of course be in the forest living off the land!
Thanks for the references you cited – I will read them:)

Thanks so much Caoimhin! Anything based on Sharia law would never stand a chance in America, especially if only a single person suspected it. America is a Christian country, even though we are supposed to be a melting pot of religions and people. Americans for the most part are afraid of Islam and do not understand it, no matter what they show on TV. I will come check your post out

Hi Robin! I checked out that link, but I had to delete it because the comment wouldn’t show up at all until I did – it’s a security function of wordpress 2.5. They based their stats on reports from the Federal Reserve, and as expected, they made it sound like everyone is doing great. It’s compound interest that should be eliminated. It should be a capped, flat rate interest. Say you borrow $50,000.00 to buy a house, the max you would pay back is $60,000.00 – allowing the bank to make 10 grand. Instead, most people will never actually own their house and take out a second or third mortgage.
Read the reply I gave Teeni above to understand how I feel about 9-11. The media is controlled by the same people who run this country. Fox news and the pentagon just admitted that all the military analysts who gave opinions about 9-11 and the Iraq war were hired and told what to say. Virtually everything we see in the media is skewed to further our leader’s agenda. If a news reporter said 9-11 was an inside job on TV right now, they would be fired and blackballed from the industry.
To be honest, I am not in the financial position to afford high interest rates, so I avoid building more debt by simply doing without things I would like to have. I’d love to have a new MAC computer, but will wait until I have $3,500.00 to waste without worry…haha!

Hi Maunie, I just do without. After losing everything I owned in hurricane Katrina, I changed as a person. I lost all love for material things and don’t care about them at all. I own 4 pairs of pants and maybe 10 shirts. I just don’t waste my money to have really nice things. When I see someone spend millions on a nice house or yacht, I am offended because they could have instead fed 1000 starving children. People generally only care about themselves.

It sounds like a fantastic idea. My point is that because America is so ignorant, they would oppose anything they believe came from Islam. Presidential candidate Barack Obama is referred to as “Hussein Osama” by many Americans as if he is some kind of terrorist. I talked to a group of 18 year old soldiers who told me that Barack is the anti-christ! They actually believe it! I told them there is no such thing as the anti-christ, it is only mythology. It is amazing. I think that we must spread these ideas to as many people as possible. We must help people believe in themselves and demand a new breed of journalists who are unafraid of corporate media

That is incredible! Here in America, 18% is considered a fair rate. Some cards are 30% which the Federal Reserve supposedly fixed today with new laws. Of course, these new laws will not solve any real problems.
On another subject:
I had some friends observe that conspiracy theories and the people pushing them are trying to get Americans to destroy themselves so they can take us over. I was a little disappointed in their ideas but they don’t understand the real purpose. The real idea is to wake up people so we can achieve democracy and bring power back to the people. The war is against the international bankers, defense contractors and other nefarious individuals who own us. I am convincing people everyday and in turn, they are convincing others.
One friend of mine asked, “What am I supposed to do…feel guilty about watching Star Trek?” Hahaha! It’s not that you cannot enjoy life, but learn how to see and know reality and fact. Ienjoy my life more and more the more I learn about what truth is

I think Americans love and are fascinated with other cultures, except those given bad press in the political arena. The media has taught influenced people in such terrible ways, especially about the Mideast. People are different from state to state. People from California are much different than people from New York. California is almost like a different country!
Where I live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, the people are much like people from Florida. Go 100 miles north from the coast line, and people are backwoods hillbillies – it’s really amazing.
I don’t really listen to popular music, mostly because I’m a musician and popular music is definitely not known for skilled musicians, it’s all packaged, formulaic music to sell albums. I’m a huge fan of Asian martial arts movies, especially the ones that aren’t in English
