The media has taught influenced people in such terrible ways, especially about the Mideast. People are different from state to state. People from California are much different than people from New York. California is almost like a different country! Where I live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, the people are much like people from Florida. Go 100 miles north from the coast line, and people are backwoods hillbillies - it's really amazing. I don't really listen to popular music, mostly because I'm a musician and popular music is definitely not known for skilled musicians, it's all packaged, formulaic music to sell albums. I'm a huge fan of Asian martial arts movies, especially the ones that aren't in English :smile: I think Americans love and are fascinated with other cultures, except those given bad press in the political arena. I was a little disappointed in their ideas but they don't understand the real purpose. The real idea is to wake up people so we can achieve democracy and bring power back to the people. Presidential candidate Barack Obama is referred to as "Hussein Osama" by many Americans as if he is some kind of terrorist. I talked to a group of 18 year old soldiers who told me that Barack is the anti-christ! They actually believe it! I told them there is no such thing as the anti-christ, it is only mythology. It is amazing. I think that we must spread these ideas to as many people as possible. We must help people believe in themselves and demand a new breed of journalists who are unafraid of corporate media :mrgreen: It sounds like a fantastic idea. After losing everything I owned in hurricane Katrina, I changed as a person. I lost all love for material things and don't care about them at all. I own 4 pairs of pants and maybe 10 shirts. I just don't waste my money to have really nice things. When I see someone spend millions on a nice house or yacht, I am offended because they could have instead fed 1000 starving children.
