Same scene, just a different ethnic group. And it’s very sad. Personally, I don’t have much patience for illegals, but the ones who are not illegal and trying to better their lives are getting the same crappy treatment, coupled with a very thick glass ceiling. It used to be said that the blacks were simply taking the jobs that the whites didn’t want (a highly incorrect statement). Now it’s being said that the Mexicans are simply taking the jobs that the blacks don’t want. Also incorrect. The correct statement would be more like: The businesses are paying such low wages that only those who live 10 to a house can afford to survive on them!

The bottom line, though, is simple. People are being mistreated and taken advantage of. And with very few avenues for recourse, and no monetary means of taking it, the vicious cycle continues. The end result is that wages are driven down to a minimum. Business owners become richer while. workers become poorer. It’s a sad state of affairs. Never before in the history of the U.S. has the gap between the rich and the poor been so huge. And it’s only getting worse. IMHO, it’s time something major is done to correct things, for the “American Dream” is more of a fantasy now than it ever was.
