Yes, I'm very aware of Glen Becks struggle with alcoholism, but it really has nothing to do with his political views; nor does Rush Limbaugh's bout with drug addiction. I respect anyone who can get off drugs because I have been through it myself. This is where partisan politics come into play. I am actually in disagreement with both political parties and support the views of Ron Paul.

Just a brief note from someone who has worked in the psychiatric/substance abuse field for a long time. Glenn Beck is a recovering alcoholic (and should be congradulated for 12 yrs sobriety), however he remains on what many in the AA community would call a "dry drunk". This then results in his outlandish commentary and beliefs that can only come the the thick haze of substance abuse. Didn't you realize that was the explaination for Rush Oxycontin Limbaugh? Pay attention to these right wing idiots and remember suburban drug trafficing makes ghetto drug trafficking seem small time.

Hi Teeni, I think there are some good folks in politics, but they get so caught up in the Washington game that it clouds their judgment. We normal folks can't see the world from their perspective and rich people don't see life the same as everyone else either. The American middle class has become the poor class, and the truly poor people live in absolute poverty. It's not even about going to college and getting a job anymore because many of those people are poor too.

I know of several people who went into politics. None of the people who were good, decent, and honest lasted long at all and one even had himself and his family threatened. That last one was on a very low level of politics too. So yeah, I find it hard to believe that anyone could believe that nonsense about things all being done out front in the open. I don't. Not for a millisecond.

Hi Nunyaa, I understand why you feel that way. I have been robbed at gunpoint and also have been shot at on more than one occasion. All criminals are bad, and the white collar criminals are just as bad as any. I read about this guy who had a powerful position at a state prison. An administrator extorted money from a Mexican inmate's wife (who spoke no English) in exchange for her husbands protection and protection. They caught him red-handed in a sting operation. He was fined $10,000.00 and released. I have a relative who was arrested on a 1st offense cocaine charge and was sentenced to 10 years of hard time. It makes no sense at all. That prison official should have got the 10 year sentence. My relative should have received probation and drug treatment. We are putting the wrong people in jail. In America, 80% of the prisoners are in there for drugs, most of who would be better off getting drug treatment. I know my post has a brutal edge but I did that to get my point across in a unique way. Yes, it does take a spineless worm to pull a gun on somebody; however, a white collar criminal is seen as a good person, when they are just as bad...if not worse.

Hi Robin, the Guantanamo Bay situation is one topic that is getting much attention, especially after yesterday's decision to give those prisoners a civil trial. The problem I have, is the U.S. government needs to prove to me that they had nothing to do with 9-11. I believe our own government paid for 9-11. I would love to be wrong, but they have been so secretive - they have brought much suspicion on themselves. I know many people who think the decision to give them real trials is wrong. I think military tribunals should be televised

You are so right J.C., the world is still in diapers. People often forget that modern technology, as an example, hasn't been around very long at all. Modern society is still in it's infancy and it's amazing just how far the world has come. Many people do not realize how close to absolute poverty 90% of America actually is. I think people from other countries sometimes see America through the lens of the media. I personally have barely enough money to eat and am one payment away from living in the streets. If the problem isn't corrected, America will become a slave labor community, working for all the corporations who have moved. I also know that people from all over Earth have it far worse than I do. I do have the confidence to survive, even if it means living in the woods off the land.
