How To Clean WP Options – Slow MySQL Queries

When your self hosted wordpress site is getting slow, or lots of cpu quota exceeded errors, how do you fix it? One place you need to look is in your main directory (using c-panel’s file manager) – find a file called tmp. Inside it, you’ll see several folders, one of them is “slow mysql queries”. I used cheap shared hosting like most people (blue host, host gator, etc.). Because of that, you will experience problems – especially if you start getting a lot of traffic. What I’m meaning is 500+ individual visitors per day.

The past 3 days, my site has been suffering from cpu exceeded errors. I know some of it’s my fault, but some is blue host’s fault. On any given day, there are 150 or more sites on the same server. You can check out who’s on your server with IP Neighborhood Reverse DNS Lookup.

Sadness – Severing Toxic Friendships

I’ve suffered from severe depression my entire life and experienced much sadness. Severing toxic friendships has been a necessity for me, but it has also nearly destroyed me. It is my hope that tis article will help someone out there, even if it’s only one person.

When I grew up, I never fit in to the normal cliques, I was extremely rebellious and my friends were too. All of my friends used drugs, I sincerely mean every single one of them. I can’t name a single person I know who doesn’t use drugs or have a severe drinking problem, except for my immediate family.

I’m not going get into detail – not because I don’t want to, but because I can’t. Actually, I’m not allowed to right now. Basically, my friends started going to prison. One of my best friends from highschool, Brian, lost his mind. He tried to kill his own mother with a butcher knife. His father beat him half to death with a baseball bat and saved her life. He was committed to a mental ward and is now a vegetable who lives on government disability.

How Advertisers Prey Upon Psychological Dysfunction

So much of the advertising industry is based on taking advantage of people’s fears, psychological disorders and negative self image. Advertisers prey upon psychological dysfunction every day, and it is becoming more widely spread. Like many of you, I often sit up late at night and watch all those ridiculous infomercials. Do marketers sit around asking themselves questions like, “What is wrong with me and how can I fix it? Not only that, how can I do it easily with hardly any effort?”

To run an infomercial costs thousands of dollars each day they run, but someone is buying those products. Ultimately, any Internet marketing blogger would love to have an infomercial – I know I would! Most of them are get rich quick courses which endlessly run 365 days per year. What people fail to realize, is that once you purchase any of them, you have declared open season on yourself to be incessantly bombarded with more advertising. They want you to pay for seminars, mailing lists and try to milk every last penny from your bank account. The truth is, most people never get rich using these schemes and waste their money on them. I’m not saying they are all bad, but many are.

Firefox Privacy Protection

One of the best things about the Firefox browser is the vast array of cool extensions available. Before we even begin, make sure you’re not using a Microsoft IE browser, it’s slow and filled with security holes. If you keep with the news, you’re probably aware of the Google-Viacom situation brewing. It concerns your privacy – check out Dan’s article Viacom Wants to Know What You’ve Been Watching to get updated.

Maybe you’re watching strange videos like, “Indonesian Cucumber Sex Secrets,” or “How To Steal Someone’s Identity the Easy Way,” and don’t want anyone to know…LOL. Generally speaking, if you’re logged into your Google account, everything you surf is logged and written to hard disk – permanently – where it can be studied, dissected and reanalyzed. Your entire on line life forms your secret profile. Imagine that everywhere you drove, everything you bought, everyone you talked to and so forth was recorded via outer space satellite and studied by governmental computer algorithms (they’re probably already doing that already). Well, that’s what Google and other search engines are doing. I personally don’t want Google or anyone knowing everything I do on line. It’s not so much having privacy because you’re a weirdo freak, it’s because you’re normal and Google wants to know your every move.

Here are a few Firefox extensions that can help protect your privacy:

Guerrilla Marijuana Farming – My Field Busted!

I’ve been through some sticky situations in my life and have made some serious errors in judgment. I was around 22 years old and partying like a fool when a friend and I decided to grow marijuana. My friend’s name is Roy, but I will not reveal his last name as he probably wants no association with this article. All I can say is we were like dumb and dumber, though we had a lot of fun – what I can remember of it.

Our first attempt to grow pot went great. We read all the best books, which we ordered from the pinnacle of intelligence, High Times Magazine. I became a guerrilla farming expert in about a month. I could identify a magnesium deficiency at a glance and was an expert on parasites. I even mixed up my own natural bug repellent to spray on the plants so our product contained no insecticides. From that experience, I gained the knowledge to grow any plant, from vegetable to trees. I have a strong background in chemistry, so that knowledge came in handy for testing soil and so forth.

How To Use RefControl for FireFox

One of my favorite plug ins for FireFox is RefControl. One obvious use is for those who use services like Entrecard, which is an easy to understand example. What exactly does the plug in do? It allows you to control what gets sent as the HTTP Referrer on a per-site basis. For those non-tech people, I’ll explain it this way:

When I’m clicking through Entrecard, every time I arrive at a new site, the referrer is Entrecard. In other words, I arrived via Entrecard. Well, that doesn’t do me any good at all. I want every new site I arrive at, to be referred by Revellian.com, not the site I was actually referred from. Why on Earth would I want to do that?

Self Hypnosis: How To Hypnotize Yourself

I explain step by step exactly how to hypnotize yourself. Self hypnosis is easy to do and is a great way to learn how to relax and stay focused. I was taught self hypnosis as a child, and it has served me well in many areas of my life.

First, let’s dispel the common myths about hypnosis:

  • It is not some type of mind control, though it does open us to suggestion.
  • Virtually anyone can learn.
  • It is not a powerful or dangerous technique that can cause a mental breakdown.
  • What you see in the movies is not real and you shouldn’t worry.

Basically, hypnosis is nothing more than a focused, but relaxed state of mind. The problem most people have with it, is they may become sleepy when they relax. Hypnosis is an alert, but detached state of relaxation. First, lets talk about the most important part: Breathing.
