Here Here. I agree 100%. The problem is the American people themselves and the laziness that has consumed them, with only the motivation to collect for free and services unrendered. People want to live well beyond their means and when its time to pay for it they want someone else to foot the bill and blame everyone else for the position that they are in. Instant Gratification and an entitlement mentality has overwhelmed society. My question is what about the people like myself that are solid investors, save up and don't overextend myself having to pay for those who made premeditated risky investments and don't want to pay the piper? When did that become our problem for being responsible? Why is it that we must live under Socialist rule because of our deadbeat and unresponsible neighbors? All we get for working and paying our bills on time is increased interest rates from our credit cards and an "atta boy" from our mortgage companies along with decreased property values, while Deadbeat Dave next door is driving a Rolls Royce and boating with his new yacht on the equity he pulled out 4 years ago and hasn't made a payment on for the last year, crying for the government to fix it for him........curses!

Thanks Marzie! She's not out of the woods yet. The doctors are monitoring her with frequent exams, but at least it's not cancer. They aren't sure what's wrong with her. I will take care of her if she gets really sick

@Miss Money: The problem is, no one can tell the truth and actually get elected. The reason Ron Paul will never be president is because he's against the entire system and doesn't pander to either party - which is unfortunately a necessity to get elected.

@Martin: I understand; however, I may write more articles to prove my point. Socialism and Marxism are so very similar, although Marxism usually involves guns. America is already part socialism, Marxism, capitalism and liberal fascism; a mixture of all.

It really doesn't matter which of the two candidates is elected, we will get similar results from either. The American government is currently buying out the capitalistic parts of society such as the mortgage market, auto industry, air travel, health care and so forth. By definition, when the government owns these things, it is known as communism. Neither Obama or McCain are antithetical to these problems; therefore; both of them are Marxists to a degree.

The bigger the government gets, the worse the problems are. I am not necessarily opposed to government health care, but right now, we cannot afford it. America is out of money, so a different approach is needed - an approach in opposition to both McCain and Obama.

Obama's entire ideology is based on taking from the rich and giving it to the poor with the use of government - that is not freedom, it is a form of Marxism. It doesn't work and has been proven. America is broke already because of such problems.

The people that really do need help are not getting it, while people who don't are bleeding the system dry. I think it will require America to fail completely before a real solution can be done.

I personally appreciate the effort you put into this post but unfortunately one post is not enough, you need more than one post to explain better your ideas. its easy to call someone Maxist but in these few lines you offer the point doesn't come out. I'll say: the system provides its leader, in a very natural way, watch carefully and you'll see what I'm saying.Fear=>people look for what you call "neo-con war monger" that is McCain. Social Welfare; zero, life expectancy:down, Rich vs Poor:a very big gap; America spends huge sums on War and going to Space, yet people die from natural catastrophes, can't send their children to school and so on,-> they turn to some sort of Maxist:Obama... no American president in 8years can move America from Capitalism to Socialism not to talk about Maxism. thx man.

Hi Bobby,

Sorry for the delay...Mr. Colbert had me tied up! ;)

I don't believe Ron Paul is perfect yet, voting for a candidate should based on his actions not his rhetorical campaigning B.S.

In addition, I am curious if a independent third party candidate, if elected, has the Colbert Cojones to "fix" Washington.

Hi Nick! It's not that our leaders are idiots, the citizens who choose them are. If people were knowledgeable, they would choose real leaders. It's nice to know we aren't the only ones with poor leadership

The move toward a socialist state in America is scary, but I still believe it is the best place to live in the world. If Americans want to keep it that way, they must take a strong stand on the constitution and oppose socialist mentalities.

Hi Ange! It's amazing how nearly all people from all countries know who Obama and McCain are. Just so you know, the American media barely ever mentions any leaders from any countries. The American media considers itself the most important and almost trivializes the rest of the world. That really bothers me.

Americans are not required to vote. Around 60% of us are registered to vote; of those, only around 50% actually do vote. Overall, most people don't vote and as long as they have their TV's and entertainment, they don't care.

We are headed towards being a socialist nation, under a police state - that's why I want to move.

It's great to see you! I am trying to get back in the groove of blogging again
