America’s Inferno of Political Ignorance

Why do people look up to famous people? Most of them don’t even deserve fame in the first place, yet they are viewed as if they’re gods. Take Paris Hilton for instance - someone who should be dropped like a diseased rag - yet she is famous for being famous. I’m ashamed to even mention her name in my blog.

Every actor, sports star, rock star, pop star and media mogul has a book now. I saw today that Tori Spelling from Beverly Hills 90210 has a book which is #1 on the New York Times best seller list. Most of these books are written on a 3rd grade level and aren’t actually written by the supposed author. They are written by someone else. The star simply dictates and the book is written for them.

Who reads this crap? What kind of person reads, or wastes their hard earned money on this uninspired drivel? People are far too smitten with these celebrities. I would be embarrassed to ask anyone for an autograph, yet people think of them like they are missing sections of the Rosetta stone.

There is a point to this rant and it’s not mere hyperbole. You want to know who reads this tripe? You want to know who worships celebrities? It is the same people who selected John McCain and Barack Obama to lead this country. Leaders aren’t stars, they’re supposed to be leaders. We’re all familiar with the phrase ‘dumbing down’. That’s exactly what’s wrong with America. I think of myself as an American outsider, not part of this nescient obliviousness.

America is simply dumbed down and the dumbness is spreading across the world like an out of control inferno of ignorance.

Watching the presidential race, I notice all the people clapping behind the candidates like blind fools. They clap, boo and hiss on cue like well trained dogs following their political party.

Change is Coming

Barack Obama promises change. A change to what? After hearing dozens of speeches and reading his entire website, I still cannot find one good thing he’s going to do except deliver promises and spend billions that Washington doesn’t have. Can he deliver on those promises? I certainly hope not, it would kill this country. The only thing I agree with him on is his position on the Iraq war. Everything else, I oppose with a conviction brighter than the sun.

Now, John McCain is using the old tactic of using his opponent’s change message as his own buzz phrase. Change. Change is coming. Change is on the way. Neither of these guys have addressed the nearly collapsed U.S. economy or the violent drug war on the U.S./Mexican border. By law, children have to go to public schools where they are subjected to an overwhelming chance of becoming drug addicts. 90% of these drugs come across the U.S./Mexico border on uninspected trucks or various open ports.

They don’t mention these things because neither have the answer. I’m upset because I know as much as they do and I’m just a regular citizen. People go to these political conventions like drunken football fans in a rabid frenzy - cheering for something they don’t understand. They’re like a pack of dogs howling for a bowl of food; yes, it’s that preposterous.

I feel sorry for anyone calling themselves a democrat or republican. How dare you be that ignorant.

I predict this: If Barack Obama gets elected, he will be assassinated within the first two years. A bloodbath riot between blacks and whites will ensue forcing the government to mow down citizens with heavy artillery to get in under control. Remember the LA riots? I hope that doesn’t happen, but in this country, racism is still brewing and hasn’t improved much since the beginning. It’s so sad.

If McCain gets elected, we will go to war with Iran and Russia within the first two years, sparking world war three. We should all march in the streets on election day and boycott both candidates, demanding a real leader.

Yes, change is coming. A change for the worse. Continue reading your Tori Spelling best seller, maintain your 3rd grade reading level and await the socialistic fascist police state which is on the way. Pehaps you think I’m whacky or thinking far too extreme. What is truly whacky are the people who chose Barack Obama and John McCain as our presidential candidates.

    Hi Bobby,
Great post! My friend Greg (aka) Politically Incorrect has a BlogTalkRadio broadcast on the Internet that you can either call in to chat or talk in a chat room (With a Sign In) this is my BlogTalkRadio page. Greg’s show is at 11:00 and the title of today’s show is Reality Now! I would sure like to hear your voice on the Internet radio about the issues of our government and politics or even just to chat on the show about whatever they are going to be talking about or in the chat room.
This is the Call-in Number: (347) 826-9874 for the show!
This invitation isn’t just to you but to all the people that read your posts too! I really don’t like talking on the Internet radio because I am afraid of what people might think of my views on things. If you could make the show today I think it would be a lot of fun. Are you available to listen, talk or chat today at 11:00?
    Enjoy Life my friend!

Great stuff Bob! I have given up on the American people. They have an attention span of about five minutes. Government agencies do what they want and are accountable to nobody. The best thing to happen to Americans is when they lose their cable TV, and the power goes out, and the cities go black. Maybe when they have to eat grass (the kind the cows feed on) they will wake up and witness that it is too late. What a generation of morons, apathetic idiots, and fat ass hamburger fanatics. I just blog now to get if off my chest. These idiots will never act.

@Jeff: Thanks a lot! That’s at 11:00 pm? I’m really no fun to discuss politics with, so you might not want my input..haha!

@Euro: Thanks! When I hear people being positive about this country, I feel like my body is covered in fire ants. This country needs a rude awakening, and it must be extremely offensive to get their attention. Don’t get me wrong, I love this country; however, I despise what it’s become. The disease of American apathy is spreading to other countries too, and that is scary.

This is why I don’t normally watch much television. I have been working on a post that deals with the heroes of today. You and I seem to share a lot of sentiments in that regard.

  5. Revellian on September 10th, 2008 8:14 pm

Hi Teeni! I watch some TV, mostly news and educational stuff. I am interested in seeing the heroes you choose!

Hmmm I wonder where you are finding all these people who are positive about the state of our country, perhaps these are the same people reading books by Tori Spelling? I really have no idea who to vote for and in a way I don’t care about the election or politics. I just want to get out of the nasty economic situation we are in… I think it is going to get a lot worse. Point blank I am kind of freaked out by how poor the economy is and know a lot of people and families teetering on the edge. That’s my vague political analysis.

    Oh well-

I am really glad to hear that everything worked out for you with your Mom and the hurricane. There’s enough stress from the day to day living without adding on the life altering stress…

Hi Michelle! No need to worry, communism is on the way. The government will take care of us and supply our cars, homes, food and health care. That’s apparently what people want, and we are going to get exactly that.

I hardly ever discuss any of this stuff in my daily life, just here on my blog. Yes, it’s such a relief that my mom is healthy. She’s really my best friend. I guess I’m a proud momma’s boy

  8. Michelle Gartner on September 11th, 2008 10:17 am

Ooooo I love momma’s boys, like Elvis. I have four boys, they are all momma’s boys!

  9. Revellian on September 11th, 2008 3:07 pm

@Michelle: haha! Elvis and I were born in the same state too

    Bobby,
This is a well-timed article, for me. Day after day, I stare in amazement at the idiocy that passes for news reporting on CNN.

What’s worse is the insane focus on stupid stuff like who didn’t vote for what when, and why that means the candidate is obviously in favor of something tangential to the bill in question!

Even I’m guilty of jumping to conclusions. Whenever my wife tells me a point that I’ve already presupposed the answer to, I have to do a double-take and ask myself, “why the heck did I assume that?”

I don’t get too political on my blog, because I don’t feel qualified to discuss issues, but I enjoy reading posts like yours and listening to what I hope are intelligent viewpoints on television.

Sometimes, I feel like we’re all characters in one of Douglas Adams’ Hitchhiker’s Guide adventures.

That would at least make sense, wouldn’t it?

    Cheers,

    Mitch

Hi Mitch! Every time I write a political rant, I feel bad afterwards because I have little tact and tend to explode. I only write what I must to get it out of my system. I’m really not that negative in real life, but I am incredibly frustrated.

I read the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy a long, long time ago and never saw the movie. I’m going to write something non-political coming up as I am far too unstable to discuss it without screaming…lol

  12. Mitch on September 12th, 2008 5:55 am

    Bobby,

I look forward to the next post.
What ever you do, don’t see the movie! LOL

    Cheers,

    Mitch

Bobby, I didn’t know Tori Spelling had her own book out he he! You’re right, obviously she paid someone else to form her words for her, no fair huh? ;)

  14. Revellian on September 14th, 2008 1:28 am

@Mitch: Thanks, I’ll remember that. I’ll be visiting soon. I have barely visited any blogs in months.

@Marzie: Well, I could have chosen another actress to pick on. Tori is probably more intelligent than most and her book might actually be good. I actually feel bad about saying things so rudely. I really need a ten year vacation
