Day after day, I stare in amazement at the idiocy that passes for news reporting on CNN. What's worse is the insane focus on stupid stuff like who didn't vote for what when, and why that means the candidate is obviously in favor of something tangential to the bill in question! Even I'm guilty of jumping to conclusions. Whenever my wife tells me a point that I've already presupposed the answer to, I have to do a double-take and ask myself, "why the heck did I assume that?" I don't get too political on my blog, because I don't feel qualified to discuss issues, but I enjoy reading posts like yours and listening to what I hope are intelligent viewpoints on television. I really have no idea who to vote for and in a way I don't care about the election or politics. I just want to get out of the nasty economic situation we are in... I think it is going to get a lot worse. Point blank I am kind of freaked out by how poor the economy is and know a lot of people and families teetering on the edge. That's my vague political analysis. Oh well- I am really glad to hear that everything worked out for you with your Mom and the hurricane.
