Hey Kip! Obama or McCain, it makes no difference–they are both the same and had McCain been elected, America would be in the same boat. As far as I’m concerned, both political parties are wrong about everything. Besides, it really doesn’t matter who he president is.

Great Article. I really like and respect Ron Paul.

Too bad during the presidential elections… the media gave Ron Paul minimal coverage. He had my vote but since John McCain took his spot, I voted for the party that he endorsed.

@Jackie: Thanks so much! America keeps treating the symptoms while ignoring the root cause. But everyone has different beliefs and most people do disagree with me.

@Meleah: It should be audited and should all be public information. I give up on it because people really don’t care about the truth.

@Angela: So true, and libertarians like me are considered “enemy combatants” by the government. To me, the best government is hardly any government at all—power to the people. We’ve thrown the responsibility on Obama’s back (and congress) when the real answer is not with government, it’s with the people. We really don’t need a president, we need a whole new minimized government (that has very little power).

@Mickey: People think you elect a new president and he will fix everything—it just isn’t true. American citizens are too apathetic and busy paying their own bills to worry over the big issues. This is creating a new society in which individualism doesn’t count.

I like your thinking about the AIG bonuses, let’s worry more about the big money being thrown around by our government and the lack of accounting. I recently just wrote an article on that very thing.
Also, I will go one step further and suggest the real problem in America is an apathetic population. Our government simply is a reflection of us or what we demand. If we have more active people taking an interest, I think things would change for the better.

Most people don’t know that the Federal Reserve is a private entity just as they don’t know that a corporation actually has the same rights as a living breathing human being. They also don’t realize that we the people have every right to over throw the government and start over again if need be.

Thanks Melinda! The days of rugged individualism in America has been replaced with a love for government—the very opposite vision of the founding fathers. I don’t believe in government and business being in bed together which is why I so staunchly oppose both political parties.

An audit will probably never happen. An audit isn’t enough, the FR needs to be completely eradicated as it is unconstitutional to even exist. Of course the U.S. government brands people like me as radical because I oppose nearly everything they do. I would support quasi-socialized medicine IF we were in the finanial position to do it. Mark my words: America will recover, but not because of Bush’s and Obama’s trillion dollar bailouts and stimulus packages—but because of the people. And it will be another bubble which will not last. When it bursts, the trillions of owed money will destroy the dollar. And that’s just the way it is.

No more political writing for me, it breaks my heart to see what’s going on and hurts even more to write about it.

Hi Bobby,

This was a great post–very informative–and I absolutely agree that the Federal Reserve should be audited. And in fact, you would think that even Obama would think this to be a good idea, with all his rhetoric on conducting business in a clear and transparent manner.

And while it is true that the FR is currently audited by a private firm–what good is it when the results of the audit are not allowed to be made public? Seems like that kind of defeats the purpose, doesn’t it?

Count me in as signed–I think they should be audited too.
