It has been too long since I've read your fiction. Between the descriptions and dark humor, with some social commentary spliced in, it's ... oh, I don't know how to describe it, but it works and it's all yours. And for some reason, that image of Oprah providing buttermilk, well, that's the one that will stay with me. Why that particular description in a story full of visceral imagery? I have no idea.

Well, that definitely held my attention. Lots of pop culture references in there too. Sometimes I think you watch too much news. LOL. Just kidding. ;)

Thanks CK! I used to fight my own penchant for grotesque weirdness in writing, but I cannot anymore. Very flavorful title huh?

Nice! Still giggling over the phrase: "busting my bizarro cherry"... that, my friend, is priceless.

I'm a very improvisational writer, meaning I have a lot of trouble planning a standard story or writing in the framework of a preordained plot. If I plan things, I feel like I'm writing a cake or a pot of soup, not a story, if that makes any sense. It felt natural to write this genre as soon as I began typing and I will experiment further. Some bizarro gets so weird it loses it's effectiveness and I wanted some sort of meaning that most people could understand. A lot of my writing is extremely morbid and grotesque. Maybe you being prissy is a good thing, and maybe I need to be less icky hahaha! Thanks so much for reading and commenting Kathleen:)

Certainly effective, Bobby. The story and most of the details struck me as strange, exotic, and disturbing.
What was symbolic and what was supposed to be entirely real confused me so that I wondered if bizarro fiction didn't work like some poetry, evoking what we feel more than what we see and know.
I agree with floreta above, the Twitter description hit me as real no matter what your angle.
Interesting perspective you took and one I'd follow further even if some of it seemed ickier than necessary--which is probably a sign I need to stop being so prissy.

Thank you Floreta, it's a strange genre and some of it is so outlandish that it's hard to take seriously, some is just plain ridiculous, and some is brilliant. I do like to dabble though!

i don't even think i'm familiar with this genre but it's certainly bizarre! i like your creative sentence structures. very imaginative. the mention of twitter as an entity was nice, and of course, i enjoyed marching to the beat of a different drum ;)

Thanks Selma, this is really just a tour de weirdness! I am still a bizarro novice though, but it is fun to experiment with extremely bizarre metaphor:)
