Powerful Content Is In The Eye Of The Beholder

What makes a difference for me might not for you. Good content is relative! If you are wanting to make money, you want to read about how to do that. You may be here to make friends, so money making ideas don’t interest you.

I haven’t really tried very hard to make money at all. Those of you who do read this blog know that all I do is write to make a difference for you. This blog is for my readers. Court let the participants choose their category which just so happened to have the perfect one for me!

I don’t brag like John Chow and and am unimpressed by people who do. If there is one thing I am good at, it is helping others make a difference. This depends on what you consider making a difference! I can’t show you how to make money because I’m not about money. I can show you how to have a high standard of integrity and ethical coolness.

Google Announces No More Pagerank!?

Breaking News!

I just read a post from my friend at Adsense Tracker. I have been reading her truly amazing blog and was shocked to see she has the story of the year! She would not reveal how she got this information but if this is true, she broke it FIRST! Here is an excerpt:

In a nod to Web 2.0 and in an effort to make the Google experience more user-centric, Google will end the system of assigning each web page a Page Rank based on an algorithm of links, quality and popularity. Instead, each page will have a Page Rate assigned by the readers.

Have you read her blog? This girl is simply amazing and I love the fact that a female has the STORY OF THE YEAR in my opinion (provided of course that it is true).

Read this breaking news here: Google Announces End of Page Rank

Adsense Tracker ROCKS!!!!!

Next we can discuss why this is the worst decision Google has ever made!

Blogging Without an Ego

Do you blog with an ego? Do you think of other human beings as being less or more important than you? Would you like to gain website popularity while retaining blogging ethics and personal integrity? Blogging integrity and ego are important concepts to me. I have very strong views on the concept of the ego and I want to share it with my beloved readers.

I am fortunate to have studied martial arts with some incredible teachers throughout my life and I have a very “samurai” view of ego. Basically, I had the ego beaten out of me. That is something I will always be thankful for. In my humble opinion, there is no place for ego in blogging, at least not in my blog. To have a powerful sense of integrity burned into the heart of every word you write, the ego must be destroyed. It must be eliminated, crushed with a violent killing blow.

In a real martial art (meaning an art for self-preservation in which the only possible outcome is life or death) the first step to learning anything is to get rid of your ego. It clouds the clarity of truth in combat and most certainly in everyday life.

There is an extremely fine line between being confident and being egotistical. It takes a lot of experience and wisdom to know the difference between the two. I remember when I received my first black belt from Dr.Donald Green, my psychology teacher in junior college. The one thing anyone who has ever received ranking from this incredible teacher was without, was ego. He was so good, he could just hold his arm out and somehow, you would punch his fist with your face! He did this while looking in the opposite direction as if by accident. At the time, he had a phD in both psychology and sociology and taught me the value of being a compassionate person above all other ideals in the martial arts.

You cannot have a sense of true integrity if you have an ego, and who wants to read a blog with a condescending, egotistical attitude? I’ve learned a lot this week about myself and the way I see integrity in blogging. This is just a little food for thought and I’d like each of you to think about the integrity in the blog you write. Let me know what you think about this very important and sometimes sensitive subject. You, my readers, are the reason I blog. As always, if you leave a comment, I will answer every single one of them!

I give so many links out to my female readers (hi ladies, I love you all), I want to make light of a male blogger who captures the essence of what I’m talking about perfectly.

My friend Seiche wrote a beautiful piece entitled Natural Sense of Wonder about his daughter. This was one of the most beautiful posts I have ever read. If you are familiar with Seiche, you know he is a martial artist and writes a lot about Brazilian Jiu- Jitsu. To see someone who is an obviously hardened warrior, write such a tender piece about his daughter, is just beautiful. Do yourself a big favor and go read this post!

I’ll have some special links for lots of folks coming up very soon, so stay tuned!

How To Get Explosive Results For Your Blog

After reviewing the site Article Marketer.com I have come to the conclusion this is one of the best overall ways to get your work noticed and to build a massive chain of incoming links. One of the most important ways to get ahead, no matter what you blog about is to have tons of links pouring in on each of your posts. Sounds nice huh? You can join and use it free! That’s the best part, though you can get the paid service which gets you an astonishing amount of links.

Most of my readers are either newbies or people who are not tech oriented so I am bringing this to you guys. The idea is that you write a post. Make sure it’s actually about something too! Then you rewrite the article changing it up so it becomes a new article. They both are about the same thing but you want it different enough so it’s not just a copy. They may reject it. The article you submit can contain an html link which is very cool. When I wrote my first they had two text boxes, one for your html link and one plain text. What they are doing is submitting it for you, and it’s set up to be accepted everywhere. A lot of folks have heard of or used Ezine before, and it is no comparison at all. Article Marketer is the biggest and most popular site of it’s kind on the web. They are the best. There is no doubt in my mind this program will get you results. I am going all out for this but I will remain patient and not get too over excited. This is something you work steadily and continually. I will be publishing all of my results even if articles are rejected. That’s how you learn, by making mistakes. The html below is basically what you will use as your link (or something very similar).

Bobby shows people all about <a href="http://revellian.com/">blogging
for money</a> by writing articles about
<a href="http://revellian.com/2007/08/21/reality-niche-this/">
article marketing</a>
and other topics.

If any of you have any problems whatsoever, I will gladly help you get it right. There is no such thing as a stupid question, so please don’t hesitate to ask. There are two links built in: one to your site, and one directly to your post. Simply replace my url with yours. You could rewrite some of your best older posts and raise them from the dead. With the free account your article will reach 14,488 people at 32 sites – that is a lot of links. The reason I’m writing this is so many of my readers don’t read tech blogs and they would like to succeed with what they write about. This is the best answer for you. It will boost your page rank and get your work out there. A lot of you aren’t interested in money necessarily but the tactics of money bloggers will work for anyone no matter what you blog about. Click the banner below and get started now! They will help you get it right. Their tutorials and guides are amazing and will help any writer!

Is Your Blog Invisible?

No matter what your goal in blogging is, being found through people doing searches on Google and other search engines, is very beneficial. If you are not familiar with applying SEO then listen up. You’ve all surfed trying to find things by entering words and partial sentences to find what you’re looking for. Let’s say you want to learn how to alter your blogger template to add some feature, you type in “blogger template featureX” and go from there.

Ask yourself this, “What would someone searching type to find my blog?” Seriously consider this question and think about what it’s asking. With most blogs you need to know someones name to find it. So, if you want to make money and practice sound seo basics, your posts have to be titled so you can associated with whatever it is you do. If you use WordPress you can use title tags to alter how search engines see your posts. The name of this post is, “Is Your Blog Invisible?” but search engines see it as, “How to be found through searchengines.”

Don’t freakout thinking through the nightmarish reality of how you titled your posts like I did, ha ha ha! These are just some basics of SEO. It’s something to consider when choosing a title for your next post. My blog is an seo trainwreck but hey, I’m just learning all this stuff. Lets take a look at my good friend Janice’s This is a Miracle: It’s a personal blog and she writes a lot about her two sons, Amos and Zac. She also pretty much writes about everything and is extremely good at commenting. I do mean extremely good. I see where her blog could being associated with healthy mothering or raising children. I’m not sure if she has thought about that but I believe it is definetly worth serious consideration. If you read her blog you will see what I mean. Janice, whether you know it or not, I’d say you are an expert in this area. I seriously doubt you could find a person anywhere that would dispute that fact.

My good friend Marzie’s Mariuca: Wishing on a Falling Star has been doing incredibly well and she just keeps it up, endlessly. Marzie is the most successful commenter I have seen on line. It seems that 70 comments on a single post is becoming routine for her. The success of her coffee mug contest garnered 130 comments! She gave every single one of them a charming reply too. I see her blogging future as one singular word, Mariuca. Her name will be what gains her success to make the transformation to mega-blogger. Her name should eventually become a “brand name”. I see Mariuca’s personal line of perfumes as the area where she will hit the big time.

Last, but certainly not least is my wonderful friend Jean from A Great Pleasure. Jean’s area of expertise is in food. I see her blog as a way to get a nice book deal. She could write some kind of sensual recipe and personal stories book. I think she could put together an incredible coffee table book that would be hot item for any living room! These are ideas anyone can relate to and I chose these great ladies because they are all such great examples of easy to understand, fantastic blogging. Also Jean made this for me today and I thought it was great! These three beautiful, married ladies are affectionately known as Bobby’s Angels. Thank’s jean! I just want to make money from the overflow traffic they generate when they make millions ha ha ha! Angels, get your guns ready, this is going to be a dangerous mission

Revellian is Three Months Old!

Revellian.com is now 3 months old! I had some very bad experiences last week and I seriously considered quitting blogging altogether. Many people may not understand why I wanted to, but it was a very bad week. About four days ago I went to just look at my blog and it wouldn’t come up. I checked with my host and they were baffled that even they couldn’t log in! I then tried to restore my backups and sadly they were all damaged and filled with garbled text. It was then I felt horrible that I had considered quitting. I faced the possibility that even if I changed my mind, my blog was gone.

Reality Niche This

I see so many new bloggers and many newly aware bloggers are being feeling a lack of purpose. Don’t compare yourselves to the experts hunting a niche and being taught to be lost followers. I am beginning to hate the word niche.

Many mega-blogs with 20,000+ subscribers are boring and there are too many. And I am not talking about Andy Beard’s Niche Marketing blog Andy is a nice guy who converses with his readers and has personality. I have had a lot of feedback from newbies everywhere as they let me know that my advice was meaningful and heartfelt. It’s too bad for blogs who ignore the little people out here.

New bloggers are a “investment” link. Sure they maybe unranked newbies, but if 40 unranked newbies I link to and inspire to grow – and become friends, they may be the ignored superstars you so greedily missed out on. While so many seek to be associated with the big blogs like envious sheep, I ignore most of them and seek where the real power is; the mass public of novices.

If we all follow the experts advice, there will remain a small group of leaders and a massive group of followers. Why do we let a small percentage of people run things? Turn around! The millions of people who could easily, with team work, drop that group with a mouse click and take over!

A Look at Technorati’s WTF

I tried out Technorati’s WTF recently and I actually had pretty good results with it. The WTF stands for “where’s the fire” referring to that heat you feel when reading the hottest post. It’s kind of like Technorati’s DIGG. The one thing about it that I did like a lot is that I know a lot of people on Technorati but I don’t on digg. Most people use Technorati so they’re already signed up – that made it easier for me because I just don’t want to join another latest greatest craze to hit the market. Just go to: http://www.technorati.com/people/technorati/yourusername and you’ll see WTF at the top.

I have two WTF’s up right now:

Beginner Bloggers Neglected

Beginner Bloggers get left behind while most tips are too…

by revellian3 days ago

There are 1000′s of beginner bloggers who have great potential but end up reading tips from popular sources. I’ve been helping lots of newbies lately, and every detail must be explained down to which mouse button to click. And they are bloggers! Big league bloggers often won’t link to them but what they fail to see is that you never know who will rise. New bloggers are a great source of links if you help them and coach them. Don’t be so concerned with every article being on time and perfect.

Also I have this one:

Malaysian Artist Emila Yusof

Help a truly talented artist and blooger win the All…

HELP A FELLOW BLOGGER WHO DESERVES RECOGNITION My wonderful friend Emila from Emila’s Illustrated Blog has been selected top 20 out of 600 in the All MalaysianBloggers Project sponsored by Genting – the City of Entertainment If you don’t know who she is then you are missing out on one the most talented artists around today. Her artwork is so original, upon seeing it once, you will never forget her magical style. This is a chance for us as bloggers to help bring this talent to a higher level.

Continue

To write your own WTF just click “Write a new WTF”. Write a short description of the post you’re referring to; it can be your own post or a post from someone else. Also, look at the other WTF’s and each one as you can see has the option to “add a blurb”. To really give someone extra support you can write a post about their post (a blurb). After you write a blurb or a fresh WTF go to WTF – My WTF’s and you’ll see under the title “view search results for this topic”. Click it and find a very important page for WTF’s. Lets take one of my WTF’s for example:

http://www.technorati.com/tag/Malaysian+Artist+Emila+Yusof

Now you may not have anything listed on this page, your WTF and post are new so probably wont be listed yet. Go to the bottom righthand corner and you’ll see the little java script that references your post and links. Copy and paste it the actual post on your blog – make sure you put it in using HTML view or code view etc. and make sure it’s on the bottom of your post. Save it. You will now see a little green icon that links to your technorati search page.

Lets look at this Tecnorati search result again:

http://www.technorati.com/tag/Malaysian+Artist+Emila+Yusof

Now you have this to remember as your assignment:

http://www.technorati.com/tag/

and type in your technorati tags after, like in the first example. You can use any combination of words you like. Lets say you sell internet hamburgers, delivered hot anywhere on Earth in 30 minutes or less – you type in “http://www.technorati.com/tag/hamburger” or add other words with a plus sign “http://www.technorati.com/tag/hamburger+delivery” and maybe your post isn’t listed among the topics it should be. Well, write a WTF about your post, publish the WTF and then paste in the javascript we discussed earlier. Click your new green icon to go to the newly created search result! Do you see the point? Now you’re post is referenced by Technorati. Now when you search as in my example above you’ll find the search result:

http://www.technorati.com/tag/Malaysian+Artist+Emila+Yusof

This will now bring you to a search result where you will see the people who put in the javascript. Emila herself put in the javascript and her’s is what my WTF is about. If you read my WTF, you’ll see I have three other links listed at the bottom. This is a good thing to do. You should add some links in a post that you use to write a WTF and also add those links or friends links etc. in the WTF itself. All in all I like using it, and try it out for a little while. Digg might not be the right place for a new blogger and really I think it’s mostly effective if you already have a popular blog. Of course you may be a Digg master so don’t hesitate to use it. The WTF I think would be a pretty good place for a beginner blogger to learn. You also learn to see how technorati searches work from writing WTF’s which can be valuble if you want more references to your work or to help someone. If you’ve never used Digg or anything like it, at least go have a look at WTF’s and see what you think. Or envision how your new philosophically perplexing post on transcending human consciousness could rise to the top and get you some new traffic! Don’t be confused by the searches with plus signs like in the above examples. When you look at WTF’s you’ll find your searches already have these plus signs. I just want you to pay attention to the address in your search bar and be aware of what you’re looking at. This awareness alone will help you immensely  While you’re at it, just go vote for Emila!

Check out this fantastic article on WTF’s

Dosh Dosh has a great article here -For those wanting lots of details.

Please vote for my WTF’s including one on this very post: Vote here
