Saturation Point of Blogging

The Evolution of Blogging

Blogging is much like a microcosm of real life in so many ways. The natural progression of how the Internet and blogging are evolving reflect how things really are. In the beginning of almost anything, the individuals count the most.

Growing up in my home town, small family owned stores and restaurants were very prevalent. Then, McDonalds and Walmart opened…making it much more difficult for the individual to move ahead. In the very beginning of the web, it was similar for individuals becoming successful.

I see this type of natural evolution taking place at an incredible rate right now. Look at Google for instance. In the beginning, Google was the coolest thing around. Now that it has become so huge, the individuals, like us bloggers, have become numbers rather than people. When you work for a small business, the owners know your name. Work for a giant corporation and you are a number. The bigger you are, the less you are expected to care.

Being a blogger right now is totally different than when I started only a year ago. If you are wanting to make money, putting up a bunch of ads and hoping is not going to get you there…hahahaha!!!! Listening or following the way someone else says is NOT going to lead you to the promised land either.

The Art of Blog Sales?

Making money with a blog is based on your ability to sell…period…that’s all there is to it. The only reason the big money bloggers make big money is because they have convinced you…or sold you on the fact that they have the answers. This is the biggest lie in blogging. You just need to sell people on the idea that YOU have the answers they need to make money. In other words…you have to SELL them. You have to sell yourself…if that’s what you want. There are plenty of followers out there that will follow those on top or those who want to be!

Whatever you do in your blogging…do it honestly and know who you are…know what you want. I used to care about traffic and stats…but now, I do not care. I let go of all that. I make enough money to run this blog free.

Blogging is reaching a saturation point. With so many bloggers doing the same thing and trying to do things the same way…the common methods for doing anything are becoming more and more useless.

If you want to make money…you have to get out and SELL. I don’t read any of the big blogs anymore. I no longer need to read 500 articles on how to gain traffic. It is redundant. It’s all been written already. I feel so much better about blogging now that I don’t care about traffic.

I became a member of the upcoming money making machine uVme, perhaps you’ve heard of it. Basically, it’s on line gambling. I lost respect for uVme because they claimed that because their on line games (for winning money), are based on skill, thus is not gambling…hahaha!!!! Well…poker is based on skill, so I guess it’s not gambling either. I cannot stand a business that lies to suck people in. Especially a business that will destroy the credit of millions of people by getting them hooked on gambling. On line gaming for money is GAMBLING…no matter what they claim :!:

Enjoy Your Blog

I am just here to write whatever I want and have fun. It took a while but I am so much happier!!!!!!! I don’t want to sell anything. I just want to relax and enjoy. So many of you fight for traffic and check stats over and over. I haven’t even glanced at mine!!! I quit doing that. Maybe I’ll check it next year (or the year after next). If you want loads of traffic…ask yourself why.

I am just over any “How To” type of articles. Been there…read that, a million times. As many of you know…I have had some serious problems, but I feel GREAT right now. I lost sight of my original intentions and got all caught up in stats and other stupid competitive stuff. I got so pissed off about Google dropping my pagerank…that made me truly let go, for the first time.

It feels good to be free. It is my nature to be good at whatever I do. I have to learn every aspect and understand all of it from every angle and perspective. When I truly realized that pagerank made no sense and was ridiculous…I laughed. It’s not worth understanding. No matter what anyone thinks…it is just a theory. You don’t know and you cannot explain exactly how or why it works.

HAVE FUN BLOGGING!!!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE!!!!!

Makiwara Compassion

Thanks to Lorelle and Jonathan

Before I get into this post I want to thank Lorelle and Jonathan Bailey for giving me some very wise advice for dealing with content theft. Jonathan’s site is plagiarismtoday.com which really gets to the truth in this area. Like he told me, simply reporting an infraction to Google is a waste of time. It seems that the big G is protecting the thieves. If anyone deserves blame, it is them. If you want to learn how to protect your site, go check out both of these sites and read all of the posts.

Beautiful Morning

It’s beautiful today, a nice cool temperature with some sweet sunshine. I enjoyed my morning tea on the front porch before my workout. Many thoughts swim through my mind constantly, so many of them grow by themselves and I simply nurture those which are healthy for me.

I go through endless ideas for my blog, but so many seem stale and old. Should I write about how to make money, how blogging is helping unite the world, how my life is going or some new technical advancement? Should I write a meme or go read 100 posts of friends? Nothing seems to catch my interest today.

I think of expanding, blasting through all limitations in life. I think of my entire life in a microcosm of swirling layers of conscious and unconscious thought. Life is not just short, it is beyond the comprehension of small when compared to the vast expanse of this constantly expanding universe.

I’m writing musical melodies, weaving them in and out of different harmonic textures and rhythms in my mind; I do this endlessly as music is natural for me. I also write pieces and parts of poetry, constructing thematic motifs for my blog. I do all of this while I workout on my heavy bag. I usually do 1000 kicks on the bag every other day.

I also do 3-5 two minute rounds of all out fighting on the bag with both hands and feet. This of course is in addition to sparring all out with other people twice a week. I have spent my entire life expressing myself in martial arts and Zen. It’s difficult to find people to practice with these days. I have had 17 different instructors this year alone.

I have always loved the spiritual and philosophical aspect of martial arts training even more than the physical. It seems the more I learn and better I get, the more compassionate I become as a human being. To harden my spirit and become an absolute weapon, has actually made me care even more about life and people.

I have trained for years in the old world art of Tameshiwara. This involves breaking boards, bricks and stones with parts of my body. I often wondered how learning to destroy something with my hands could, in essence, help me to love and appreciate life even more. I think of how important it is to have things in your life that are worth dying for.

Without anything worth dying for in our lives, how can we have anything worth living for? Such thoughts of depth often help me to put things in perspective. In order to break stones with your fists, you must condition your body parts properly. I hit a old style, traditional makiwara board to get the conditioning. This is to me, about as personal as it gets. Here are some pictures of my makiwara, it is 14 years old.

Sorry about the terrible quality but they were taken with my super cheap webcam. I have never shown this to anyone before. I just want to show some of the extreme training methods I use. Yes, the stains are blood. Bruce Lee said, “Boards don’t hit back.”

Bruce’s words ring true, but hands of stone certainly give you the ability to hit anything without feeling any pain whatsoever. One thing about training this way is you get all the stress out of your system! My hands haven’t bled in several years and I have never suffered any kind of problem at all.

I attribute my health to the study of yoga and healthy exercise. Because I had nothing to write, I decided to share a little peek into my personal life. I must admit, it does feel good to share this with the world. I don’t know why. I just keep so many things so secret. I have this traditional martial arts code of secrecy ingrained into my being.

I am letting go of tradition in many respects so I can grow and explore life more deeply. Life is about growing and expanding. I am taking many more chances than ever before. I am actually taking a huge chance on something or maybe someone! I cannot reveal any details at this time but let’s say that I have met someone very special! Ha ha…you’ll just be left in the dark for now

That Page Is Rank – Smelling

Bobby The Snob

Notice how I “cashed” up my blog to celebrate my new found status as a aristocratic page rank 4 site? That’s right…I’m gonna be rich. If you have a page rank of 0, please leave. I only associate with my kind. I am now, a snob. None of the A-listers have invited me to dinner! I suppose they just haven’t heard yet.

I’m waiting on the Google armored truck to pull up any second. Wait, is that them? False alarm! Wow, I sure wish they would hurry! Will Google be bringing me a new car too? I’m sure they will. What kind of luxury car do page rank 8 sites get?

Google Announces No More Pagerank!?

Breaking News!

I just read a post from my friend at Adsense Tracker. I have been reading her truly amazing blog and was shocked to see she has the story of the year! She would not reveal how she got this information but if this is true, she broke it FIRST! Here is an excerpt:

In a nod to Web 2.0 and in an effort to make the Google experience more user-centric, Google will end the system of assigning each web page a Page Rank based on an algorithm of links, quality and popularity. Instead, each page will have a Page Rate assigned by the readers.

Have you read her blog? This girl is simply amazing and I love the fact that a female has the STORY OF THE YEAR in my opinion (provided of course that it is true).

Read this breaking news here: Google Announces End of Page Rank

Adsense Tracker ROCKS!!!!!

Next we can discuss why this is the worst decision Google has ever made!

The Power in Conversational Commenting

There is a lot of unseen power in conversational blogging. 90% of the help my readers receive are in my comments. I do have one certainty in my blogging which is something that will never change, a strong sense of blogging ethics and business integrity. I am into good seo practice but it takes a backseat to my real purpose. I take pride in replying to each and every comment on my site. This blog is also a full Do-Follow blog.

I choose not to use a plugin that will make a commenter have to leave a certain amount of comments to receive link love from me. Some Do-Follow blogs employ this criteria to receive link love, I don’t. If a new commenter comes here, I check the source of this person by looking at the site it comes from. It takes more effort to do it this way, and I like to prevent my spam in this manner.

Do you reply to every comment your readers leave? If I leave what I consider a viable comment on someone’s post and they don’t reply to it, I feel like they might consider it irrelevant and often I don’t feel very welcome at their blog. Some people only respond to a small percentage of their commentators and just leave the others like they are less important. The blogs I like most are the one’s that give me the time of day with a simple reply!

I love this conversational approach to my blog and I think it has gained me lots of readers who come back regularly. Also, most of these people have become friends, which is the most important idea of all. Readers notice blogs who don’t reply and these blogs over time develop reputations for not caring. If you blog only to make money, then you are the festering greed that drives the bigger blogs.

Unfortunately, Google heavily perpetuates greed by making the desire to to link to big blogs so important. They recommend only linking to blogs who have page rank and that makes me sick to my stomach. That is how it is.

My good friend, the Brown Baron left me a comment on my post Reality Niche This which sums up my feeling about blogging in an absolute way. The comment was very memorable and perfectly written:

Every comment, every link, is a potential bridge between two people, two countries, and two souls. No matter where you are in the world, or what your culture is, a single link or comment can seal a friendship.

Blogging is my way of finding my lost relatives, that’s you guys. Anything after that is gravy.
Thanks Bobby, I loved this post.

My good friend Aaron from Aaron Cook Dot Com left this amazing comment recently on my post about blogging ethics:

Bobby said, “I tend to be the type of blogger who freely shares his feelings without hesitation and I will always do that whether it’s good for my popularity or not.”

Aaron says: Bobby, I believe that’s precisely the way it should be. We’re bloggers, not politicians! And we, as humans, should ALWAYS be willing to share our feelings WITHOUT worrying about whether or not they are popular. Otherwise, what the hell good is having feelings and opinions anyway!

Personally, I believe this idea is by far more important than anything else in blogging! As always, if you leave a comment, I will answer it. It is the force which drives my writing.

Submitting to Search Engines

I asked bloggers if they knew if they had actually submitted their blogs to search engines. Most didn’t know or weren’t sure. These are the most rudimentary newbie blogging tips. Here are the main ones for you to take care of:

  1. Submit to Microsoft live search http://search.msn.com/docs/submit.aspx
  2. Submit to Google http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl
  3. Submit to Yahoo http://submit.search.yahoo.com/
  4. Google Webmaster Tools https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/docs/en/about.html

Number 4 is Google Webmaster tools. You can read about it and at least to be familiar with available tools anyone can use.

Where did I get this information? I recommend going to this site and reading up a little. You might consider installing their tool bar and analyze your own site and other sites to start learning what SEO is and how it works.

RankQuest SEO Tips

RankQuest SEO Toolbar

There are other places to submit to and you can read more at the site listed above. So many people forget the most basic of things to do and this is a reminder to do it. Maybe your site is doing well and you’ve never done this; it may help boost you a little more if you make sure you are listed!
