I was thinking about how truly thankful I am to have the Internet and be a blogger today. We often get caught up in our lives as well as in blogging itself. We get burned out and we often forget just how great it is to have this incredible medium. Last year, I wrote a lot about this very subject and am purposefully reminding myself how great life is, even if it’s not going well – or even better, how great it is to be alive.

Has it ever crossed your mind that positive thinking has a negative side or that negative thinking has a positive side? Some people get so caught up in self help and being success oriented that they over do it. Sometimes, I just want to yell something negative at someone or say something incredibly pessimistic. I have a dark and sometimes twisted sense of humor, and too much positivity gets under my skin.

Revelliantology For Newbies

The first time I ever heard of ‘the law of attraction’, I knew exactly what it was – before I actually read a book about it. Someone simply relabeled positive thinking, positive self projection and persuasion with a catchy new title and some quasi-elitist, highly vernacular jargon. It just amazes me that relabeling something thousands of years old can catch on so feverishly.
I’m not saying it doesn’t work, I just cannot bring myself to call it ‘The Law of Attraction’. It’s like a more metaphysical scientology. I should relabel ‘getting laid’ as ‘Revelliantology, the spiritual science of sexual magnetism’. Here’s my idea – maybe I’ll be a billionaire soon:
Now…the next time you have a heated romantic interlude, refer to it as the ‘Science of Revellianism‘. What’s even funnier, is that I could actually write this book!
