How to Create Artisic Expressiveness

I love the very idea of artistic expressiveness – whether it be writing, music, color, sound, silence, scent, emptiness, saturation or physical – they are amalgamated as one. I want to share with you the way my existence works. Yes. My existence. Not the way I hear, taste, see, smell, feel or psychically interpret. It’s the way I combine all six senses as one. That one also has an opposite as all things do.

I tend to think visually and it is combined with the other five senses. Also, the most important idea, is that I think or encompass the contradictory or reflective manifestation inherent to the whole of reality. Some of you may believe that there are only five senses. You may not believe people have souls or psychic ability – that is fine with me; however, please read forward and have an open mind.

In order to have a sixth sense, you must believe in the idea! It is a manifestation of belief. I would argue that there are not just six senses, there are twelve. All six have an opposite. I would argue that there are even more than twelve; the physical six and the spiritual six are one. That one has an opposite and so forth – on and on, forming multitudinous and endless layers. It never ends. This forms the basis of my expressiveness. This is what I build my artistic ideas from. It is the theater upon which my ideas are built and flourish – devoid of dry, unimaginative thought.

All these things I describe equate to artistic expressiveness. To express oneself is art. The more powerful your belief is, the more expressive your art is. All human action can and should be artistically expressed. It makes life beautiful. It gives us the ability to create.

Perhaps you are one who thinks logically: There is no proof that humans have more than five senses. There is no proof of God. You need scientific evidence before you can accept any idea’s validity. You don’t believe people have souls. You don’t believe that the pineal gland is the third eye. You don’t believe that the spirit exists. I cannot convince you of any thing without proof. In my artistic world, nothing requires proof.

Does that mean logic cripples one’s ability to be artistic? No it doesn’t; however, if you think in new ways, your imagination will explode. It will overflow in color, texture, scent, flavor, depth, meaning, order and chaos. Why would you, as an artist, limit yourself to thinking logically? That’s what this article is all about anyway. It’s about removing all limitations – to free yourself from from the shackles of pure logic – to think in every possible way and of course, their reflective opposites.

I like to apply adjectives to my thoughts. I like to to think in terms of angularity. I like to swim through visions, taste sound, smell feeling, feel color and so on. I place no limitations on my genesis of art. Sometimes, just for new and powerful mindscapes, I do place limitations. I strangle ideas. I let color suffocate. I poison visual architecture, allowing it to suffer – plunging into pools of electrical chaos. Sometimes, I nurture deliquescence and then vaporize it’s flavor. I simply create and destroy. I am a writer and nothing is off limits. I immolate all barriers and then build new ones – all on purpose – sometimes by accident. Everything I do is my expression. I let whatever happens naturally, occur naturally. It is the true meaning of all things artistic.

Perhaps these ideas seem abstract. Perhaps you are beyond their practicability. It is only my hope that you will open your mind to be limitless – smashing all boundaries. Go…soar across infinite possibilities and create ideas. More importantly, express your ideas. Most important of all, never let anyone kill your dreams.

While you’re at it, have a beautiful day!

Bobby’s Batch #9 – Poetic Blademaster

Before I get started with this week’s selections, I offer two short poems. I hope you enjoy them. I am trying my best to make each new batch as unique as possible – this week was particularly fun and fulfilling!

Reason

Liquid dreams convulse my tarnished soul
imperfect I stand
forever screams forged from anguished toll
accepting all I am
for the first time alive
destined to revive, to decide, to visualize
my reason for living…

I feel so incomplete and dry after the lines above, I have decided to go with this instead (hey, I can’t help it – I’m a horror writer):

Cold Razor

Twirling blades of razor
hissing snakes of sound
I approach; voiced in doom
death bladed master!
blood moon pastor!
Burning ice
the feeling they say
wind on wet bones; scarlet sheathed
knotted fingers shivering
blades flutter
skins of butter
and lonely surgeon
with victim quivering…

Poetic Deathmaster

Poetic Deathmaster

Ahhh…I feel better already

I’ve been reading a lot of great poetry about in the blogosphere. I really don’t read or study the legendary poets throughout history as I get my ideas from other places; such as an event in my life, a picture, a song or a fleeting thought; germinated and nurtured within the dynamic tissue of my innards. I strive for nothing as poetry shall be written…all by itself.

I think of all the starving artists; from every form…from music to painting and all between. Poets often go unnoticed – yet their work is so important – it defines the essence of expression. Therefore, I dedicate this week to but a few of the blogosphere’s finest poets and writers.

Jé Maverick is a wonderfully imaginative poet whom I recently started reading. I was mesmerized by his finely honed expressions and uniquely abstract motifs. With so many interesting poems to choose from – it wasn’t difficult – they are all worth reading. The first I read today was Other Sermons; filled with truths of spiritual hypocrisy as well as introspective complexion. While you’re there, spend some time and read several of his poems.

The explosively enigmatic Paisley wrote the flesh broiling, bone charring and ultraviolet poem, The “Green” Racket. You might need your polarized sunglasses for this one. Al Gore had better hide!

The illuminating and scintillating Anastasia wrote an interfusion of heated attraction and pheromone fantasy in her urge brimmed Twilight Taxi Ride. Holy carnal conniption Batman…I need a cold shower!

Square1…the fantasy scribing literary chemist engrafts realism with wonder in her beautifully inventive, Write Your Fire in the Sky. I absolutely loved this story!

I spent some time combing through Beaman‘s archives; infiltrating his treasure trove of poetic lyricism. A truly brilliant poet can write from any perspective and offer a plenitude of assorted coolness. One such versification is Hunger – filled with feline violence and dark humour – a great read.

The world wise spiritual visionary, Michael Skowronski, wrote a fantastic piece filled with depth and meaning in International World Government. I have often thought that a similar government is the solution. This is in polarizing contrast to the current militaristic movement towards a one world government. I believe humankind has difficulty living up to it’s own intelligence…it’s time to do things right.

What is Art: What is Love

What path are you on? What destination do you seek? What is the sound of one hand clapping? What is enlightenment?

I travel all paths in all directions, to all hierarchies within all depths. I am the path yet don’t need it. A group of musicians play. I join in with my melody. I play my melody over their chords and rhythm. I play across their accompaniment; I play through their chords; under their chords; dive in and out of their chords; I engulf their chords and now they play across, over and through me. I don’t seek enlightenment. Enlightenment simply refers to, or describes my artistic journey of discovery and expression. Enlightenment is not a destiny or a place of your answer. The enlightened never consider enlightenment as they are, the enlightened. They are that which is becoming.

To be a writer or artist is a state of living expression emanating from no ego. The artist never finishes and has never started. The artist is the act of honest expression. The martial arts legend Bruce Lee said of his art, “Martial art means to honestly express yourself”.
That is the definition of any art, writing, music, design or creation. The magic is created as it happens, or as it becomes.

Do not seek deep meanings but let what you express have meaning through what your flow of liveness becomes as it does.

Everything that will ever occur already has and everything that already occurred hasn’t occurred yet and all encompassed happens now. The power is in not seeking that which does not exist. All art expressed is the unheard sound of one hand clapping which never produced sound. The artist simply becomes. Thinking about what you will write or draw is the single greatest hindrance to expressing yourself artistically.

To love another is art from the soul. I cannot stop it. I love someone as expression. Perhaps the love is returned, as to love is an act of becoming. . .

Revellian’s Expressive linguistics 101 #2

Revellian’s Expressive linguistics 101:Philology and psycho-linguistically descriptive dialectology

This week I introduce a fresh batch of cool words to add to your vocabulary, unless of course you already know these and use them regularly in your everyday posts!

  1. avarice
  2. indefatigable
  3. extravasate
  4. raucous
  5. tenebrous
  • Avarice- An excessive desire of gain, greediness after wealth, covetousness, cupidity.

example: The store owner displayed a disgusting avariciousness when asking his employees to donate $100.00 to his birthday fund!

  • indefatigable- Incapable of being fatigued, not readily exhausted, untiring

example: The woman looked to her friends after listening to their sob stories of sexual dissatisfaction and said, “I never have that problem. I know some of you asked about my walking with a limp and I tell you, it’s not from injury but from my husbands carnal indefatigableness!

  • extravasate- to force out, to pass into surrounding tissue

example: Like a torturous hernia splitting an abdominal wall I was extravasated from the party. I thought I was on the invited list!

  • raucous- Unpleasantly loud and harsh

example: The woman sported a wicked scowl after hearing the man scream at the children. She said in a most raucous tone, “They are deaf you disgusting ruffian!”

  • tenebrous- shut off from the light, dark, murky, hard to understand, causing gloom

example: After four hours of the tenebrous literature seminar on using new words effectively, I was ready to extravasate myself from the room before I let off a raucous scream!

I like to use words in ways that seem out of place but add that special explosive quality needed for expressiveness.
example: I was engulfed in a scorching inferno of nuclear despisement when failing to make a timely comment on my girlfriends new hairstyle.
Next time be sure to immediately notice as you may be burned at the stake. I actually had a girl dump me years ago because of this exact situation.

This is just a small post as tomorrow I will publish a short story. I have tried the Writers Cafe and it is a good place to read and review authors, and have your work reviewed in return. I have to say however that the web-2.0 site Urbis is the best place on earth to hone your skills as a writer. It’s not as social as Writers Cafe but it is all business. You have to review a lot to get reviewed and there are some incredible writers there. It is not always a fun site, but if you want a serious challenge and want to become a better writer; it is the site to join. It is like writers college but better. I would love to see some of my friends try it out. It has been extremely rewarding. Go check it out!

    • For those of you serious about honing and enriching the profundity of expressiveness in your writing – then perhaps you should delve into the following:
    1. Join the new network Bloglives – You promote your self and your blog to others in a more personal way to other “creative and artistic” bloggers.
    2. I did and through it I found the Blog Writers and Artists Network Go join it also. Another place for those who love the “art of writing” aspect of blogging.
    3. Join the community site Urbis where you critique and write reviews of stories, poetry, haiku etc. In return you get reviewed. Truly educational! I cannot say enough about how challenging it is to write reviews here. Simply to write a review of one particular poem, I had to spend several hours studying the literary theories of poststructuralism and deconstruction. It was absolutely fascinating!
    4. In addition to my Friday story postings I will present a weekly post of writing ideas: Revellian’s Expressive linguistics 101: Philology and psycholinguistically descriptive dialectology every Monday! Right here on Revellian.

    Revellian’s Expressive linguistics 101

Here are some words you don’t hear everyday – which, if incorporated into your daily speech may make you sound like you’re trying to act like you didn’t learn it from a blog; but that you’ve always used it. Warning- don’t say it a lot. It may give away that you’re not a human thesaurus.

    1. Trenchant
    2. Phlegmatic
    3. Albatross
    4. Miasma
    5. Peregrinate

    Philology and psycho-linguistically descriptive dialectology

Here are some words you don’t hear everyday – which, if incorporated into your daily speech may make you sound like you’re trying to act like you didn’t learn it from a blog; but that you’ve always used it. Warning- don’t say it a lot. It may give away that you’re not a human thesaurus.

    1. Trenchant
    2. Phlegmatic
    3. Albatross
    4. Miasma
    5. Peregrinate
    • Trenchant- sharply perceptive, aware, very keen

example- Now Billy-Ray might not look smart, but he is unexpectedly trenchant.

    • Phlegmatic-Having a slow way about you, Being unemotional, cold.

“How can you just stand there and lie. It takes a phlegmatic witch to eat a mans last Twinkie!”

A real oddball word not used much is:

    • Albatross- A constant, worrisome burden or An obstacle to success- or one of those large birds you were thinking about.

“Honey, get in here! You may not think so, but I’m a helluva lot more trenchant than I look! I mean. . .thirty-seven pairs of shoes? I don’t see how you can act so phlegmatic about this. This has become a serious albatross for us both! Gimme those credit cards. . .”

    • Miasma- A thick vaporous atmosphere or emanation, or poisonous air

“Wait, don’t go in the bathroom! It’s a miasma in there!”

I like the words sheath, shroud, encrust and slither. They are so propitious:
Splattering forth from my encrusted memories, it slithered onward as gelatinous cognitions of repressed dissociative amnesia. Ancient visions of an unknown mind unveiled to me an inherent vaporous psychoses – a misted cloud if you will – shaded in vermilion pigment and the fragrance of vanilla summer. This undulating creature hath long been sheathed within the glistening skins of my cold, wet nightmares. I have long suffocated within these tightly wrapped densities – these deceptive mirrors of my self actualization. Betwixt multitudinous layers of thickened cortex and shrouded past lives, you will find the real me. THAT’S ENOUGH. . . I know this is really weird but can be effective if used sparingly to delineate things in new, unusual ways.

Here’s another rarely used word which exhibits a unique sporadicalness:

    • Peregrinate- To journey or travel from place to place, especially on foot.

“Baby, why don’t you peregrinate your ass in the kitchen and procure me a beer?”
Actually, Lets refrain from saying that. That just might become the albatross that ended it all!
